CrowdStrike has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Pangea, a leader in AI security, to extend the CrowdStrike Falcon platform with the industry's first complete AI Detection and Response (AIDR). This acquisition will secure data, models, agents, identities, infrastructure, and interactions throughout the enterprise AI lifecycle, from development to workforce usage, addressing the rapidly expanding AI attack surface.
CrowdStrike, which pioneered Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) as the industry standard, is applying the same transformative approach to AI security through this acquisition. The Falcon platform already provides foundational protection for AI environments, models, and agents, preventing sensitive data exfiltration from endpoints and cloud workloads while securing SaaS integrations. With Pangea, AIDR will unify visibility, compliance, and enforcement across the entire AI lifecycle, offering organizations the control needed to manage prompts and AI systems securely at scale.
Pangea brings advanced features to enhance CrowdStrike's AI security offerings, including complete AIDR for monitoring AI agents and workflows, transforming AI security similar to EDR's impact on endpoints. Key capabilities include blocking direct and indirect prompt injection attacks, model jailbreaks, and malicious entities with up to 99 percent efficacy at sub-30ms latency. It also stops risky AI usage by controlling chatbot interactions and generative AI conversations through deep visibility and instant governance policies.
