Cohesity and Google Cloud have announced a multi-year expansion of their strategic partnership, focusing on new integrated solutions that enhance cyber resilience, accelerate enterprise artificial intelligence adoption, and strengthen data sovereignty. The collaboration aims to help organizations securely unlock the value of their data by combining Cohesity's AI-powered data security platform with Google Cloud's AI and security innovations.

The partnership addresses data sovereignty with certified solutions for Google Cloud's Data Boundary.
Expanded data protection for Google Cloud services like GKE and BigQuery is also included.
A central pillar of the expanded collaboration is enabling deeper AI insights. Cohesity plans to integrate Google Cloud’s Vertex AI Search and the upcoming Gemini Enterprise agentic platform with its own Cohesity Gaia AI assistant. This will allow users to perform natural language and structured queries against their historical, unstructured data stored in Cohesity's immutable data lake, with answers grounded in source citations. A Google Cloud-hosted version of Gaia is available to improve performance.
The partnership deepens integration to combat cyber threats. Cohesity already incorporates Google Threat Intelligence to scan backup data for indicators of compromise, aiding clean recoveries. The collaboration expands to include tighter integration with Google Security Operations for automated workflows and plans for a new cyber resilience SaaS offering. Furthermore, the Cohesity CERT team will collaborate with Google Cloud's Mandiant Incident Response to assist mutual clients during cyber incidents.
To meet growing global data residency requirements, Cohesity is certified as a Google Cloud Ready – Regulated & Sovereignty Solutions partner. Its FortKnox cyber vaulting solution on Google Cloud enables immutable, isolated data copies within specific geographic regions. The partnership also expands Cohesity DataProtect support for critical Google Cloud services like Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) and BigQuery, providing flexible backup and recovery options.
