Comcast Business and Colt Technology Services have announced the latest program in the Comcast Business Innovation Lab: a strategic collaboration to develop API-driven interoperability across their networks and service platforms, built on Mplify's Lifecycle Service Orchestration standards. The program is designed to deliver a unified, automated experience to large enterprises operating across North America and Europe.
Comcast Business and Colt partner on API-driven network interoperability.
Built on Mplify LSO standards for automated global connectivity.
Enterprises can qualify locations, get quotes, and initiate service across both networks.
Designed to be agent-driven with AI agents for discovery, ordering, and fulfillment.
Colt serves as the first international carrier partner in the Innovation Lab.
Program validates interoperability in live environments with enterprise customers.
As AI-driven workloads accelerate how quickly enterprises need to deploy and scale infrastructure, they demand connectivity that can be ordered, delivered, and managed as quickly as the applications it supports. The connectivity itself isn't the challenge—coordinating it across carriers is where enterprises can lose time and money. The program addresses that challenge directly by connecting Comcast Business's digital orchestration platform with Colt's international network. The result will give enterprises programmatic access to connectivity across Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and Africa, replacing manual inter-carrier processes with automated, API-driven workflows.
The program will validate this interoperability in live environments with enterprise customers. Going beyond automated buy-and-sell workflows between providers, it is designed to be agent-driven—enabling AI agents to help discover, order, and fulfill connectivity through governed automation. The goal is a repeatable model for how leading carriers transact, moving cross-border networking from manual coordination to automated, intent-driven fulfillment. The program will launch with a defined set of products and markets, with the intent to expand toward broader network offerings over time.
"How enterprises build and operate their networks has become one of the most consequential technology decisions a company makes, and our job is to make that radically simpler," said Bob Victor, Chief Product Officer, Comcast Business. "That's what the Innovation Lab is for – proving, with partners like Colt and against real enterprise requirements, that connectivity can move at the speed of the AI-driven business it supports."
"Our vision is simple: global connectivity should be easy. Customers shouldn't see the boundaries between networks or carriers, they should simply get the connectivity they need, wherever they do business. By linking our platforms through open, standards-based APIs, Colt and Comcast Business are removing complexity, streamlining procurement and service management, and creating an 'easy button' for global connectivity. The result is a faster, simpler, and more seamless experience for enterprises," said Mirko Voltolini, VP, Technology and Innovation, Colt Technology Services.
