Second Front Systems  has announced an expanded collaboration with Microsoft to help independent software vendors (ISVs) accelerate their path to Authority to Operate (ATO) across government cloud environments. The initiative is designed to simplify the deployment of secure production workloads on Microsoft Azure Government and other accredited Microsoft cloud platforms supporting both civilian and defense missions.

The collaboration combines Second Front's Game Warden platform with Microsoft Azure Government to provide software providers with a managed, end-to-end deployment pathway spanning FedRAMP and U.S. Department of War (DoW) Impact Levels for both unclassified and classified environments.

  • Second Front expanded its collaboration with Microsoft to accelerate government ATO.
  • The initiative supports deployments on Microsoft Azure Government and accredited cloud environments.
  • Game Warden enables continuous deployment, monitoring, and repeatable ATO processes.
  • The solution supports FedRAMP and DoW Impact Levels across civilian and defense missions.
  • ISVs gain a streamlined path from unclassified to classified government environments.
  • The collaboration aims to accelerate secure software delivery for public sector agencies.

Collaboration Simplifies Authority to Operate for ISVs

Achieving Authority to Operate has traditionally been one of the most time-consuming barriers for software vendors entering government markets. Through the expanded collaboration, Second Front and Microsoft aim to reduce this complexity by providing a managed deployment pathway that enables software companies to move workloads into accredited government cloud environments more efficiently.

The offering supports Microsoft Azure Government and additional Microsoft cloud environments accredited for FedRAMP and Department of War (DoW) Impact Levels, helping organizations deploy production-ready applications across varying security classifications.

Game Warden Automates Secure Government Software Delivery

At the center of the collaboration is Second Front's Game Warden platform, which provides continuous deployment, monitoring, and repeatable ATO workflows for civilian, defense, and national security applications.

The platform is designed to simplify software deployment while reducing the operational effort traditionally required to meet government compliance and accreditation standards. This allows software vendors to bring commercial technologies, including AI and DevSecOps solutions, into government environments more rapidly.

"This collaboration gives ISVs, mission owners, and agency leaders a single path forward — each from where they stand today," said Mamie Cruse, Chief Mission Officer at Second Front. "ISVs answering the call for national competitive advantage get a clear route from civilian to classified environments. Mission owners get an accredited delivery pipeline for next-generation AI, modern DevSecOps, and commercial software at mission speed. And agency leaders get the predictability to rebuild and retrain their workforce around capabilities that are actually fielded."

Expanding Support Across Classified and Regulated Environments

The expanded collaboration builds upon the existing relationship between Second Front and Microsoft by extending Game Warden's capabilities across multiple accredited government environments.

The platform now supports deployments across:

  • FedRAMP Class B/C/D (Low, Moderate, and High)
  • Department of War (DoW) Impact Levels IL2 through IL6
  • Joint Worldwide Intelligence Communications System (JWICS)

These capabilities are intended to help government agencies access commercial software innovation more quickly while maintaining compliance with stringent security requirements.

Accelerating Public Sector Modernization

Both companies emphasized the importance of helping government agencies modernize technology infrastructure while reducing reliance on legacy systems.

"Building on what Game Warden has already delivered on Azure, we're going further," said Jamie Harper, Vice President, Defense Industrial Base, Microsoft. "Our collaboration with Second Front helps software companies deploy mission capabilities faster on Microsoft Azure Government while reducing barriers to government adoption."

By extending secure deployment pathways across both unclassified and classified environments, the collaboration seeks to provide government organizations with faster access to AI, cloud-native applications, and commercial software innovations needed for mission-critical operations.
