As AI systems evolve from assistants into autonomous builders and operators, the demand for infrastructure that can be directly accessed and managed by agents is rapidly increasing. Bandwidth Inc. has introduced Bandwidth Build, a new platform that enables AI agents and developers to autonomously provision and launch communications services on its cloud communications infrastructure, marking a shift toward agent-ready telecom systems.
Bandwidth has launched “Build,” a platform for AI agents and developers to autonomously provision communications services.
The platform extends the Bandwidth Communications Cloud into an agentic ecosystem for AI-driven infrastructure access.
AI agents can use APIs, CLI, SDKs, and MCP Server to securely access and manage communications workflows.
Build enables rapid deployment of voice applications including calling, transcription, conferencing, and text-to-speech.
The platform includes trial access with pre-configured phone numbers and usage credits for instant onboarding.
It is built on Bandwidth’s global CPaaS infrastructure spanning 65+ countries and ~90% of global GDP coverage.
Bandwidth Inc., a global cloud communications provider, has announced the launch of Bandwidth Build, a platform designed to allow AI agents and developers to autonomously provision and deploy communications services. The initiative reflects a broader industry shift where AI systems are increasingly expected to interact directly with production infrastructure rather than relying solely on human-controlled workflows.
By extending its Communications Cloud into an agentic ecosystem, Bandwidth aims to reduce friction between application ideation and deployment, enabling faster experimentation and production-ready communication workflows.
Bandwidth Build allows both AI agents and human developers to access the company’s production-grade communications infrastructure through multiple interfaces, including a self-serve UI, APIs, CLI tools, and SDKs.
A key component of the platform is its MCP Server integration, which enables authenticated AI agents to securely interact with Bandwidth APIs, provision services, and automate communications workflows without manual intervention.
The platform supports core voice capabilities required for AI-driven applications, including inbound and outbound calling, text-to-speech, transcription, call recording, and conferencing. These features are built on Bandwidth’s global, carrier-grade infrastructure, which already supports mission-critical enterprise communications.
Bandwidth Build is designed to streamline the path from concept to deployment for both developers and AI agents. The platform includes a trial environment with pre-configured U.S. phone numbers, usage credits, and immediate access to Voice APIs, enabling rapid prototyping of voice-based applications.
This approach is intended to eliminate traditional setup barriers in communications infrastructure, allowing AI-powered systems and developers to build, test, and deploy applications more efficiently within a unified environment.
Bandwidth emphasized that the rise of autonomous AI agents is reshaping how software and infrastructure are built and operated.
"AI agents are building, configuring, and operating technology on their own. With Build, we're extending the Bandwidth Communications Cloud to support that shift," said John Bell, Chief Product Officer at Bandwidth. "AI agents and developers can access the same production-grade voice infrastructure that powers mission-critical communications for enterprises worldwide. Build eliminates the friction between an idea and a working application by providing immediate availability."
Bandwidth Build is built on the company’s established Communications Platform-as-a-Service (CPaaS) infrastructure, which spans more than 65 countries and covers approximately 90% of global GDP. The platform is trusted by major technology providers and enterprises including AWS, Cisco, Google, Microsoft, Zoom, Genesys, Five9, Docusign, and Uber.
This global infrastructure foundation enables Bandwidth to support high-scale, real-time communication workloads required by enterprise and AI-driven applications across industries.
The launch of Build reflects a broader transition in the communications industry, where AI systems are becoming active participants in software development and infrastructure management.
By enabling agents to directly provision and operate communications services, Bandwidth is positioning its platform as a foundational layer for AI-native voice applications and autonomous communication systems.
