Ferric, Inc. and Marvell Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ: MRVL) have announced a collaboration to develop integrated voltage regulators (IVRs) for Marvell’s custom silicon platforms, aimed at optimizing power delivery for AI and cloud infrastructure. This partnership leverages Ferric’s innovative technology to address power bottlenecks in high-performance computing.
Ferric and Marvell collaborate on IVRs for AI and cloud infrastructure.
Ferric’s IVRs are 10x smaller, enabling in-package integration.
Reduces transmission losses by up to 85% and boosts current density.
Supports multi-kilowatt compute platforms for hyperscalers.
Marvell’s stock (MRVL) closed at $78.648 on June 26, 2025, per the finance card above.
Enhances performance, efficiency, and ROI for cloud operators.
Ferric’s proprietary thin-film magnetic technology enables the world’s highest-density DC-DC power converters, with IVRs over 10x smaller than conventional solutions. “Ferric is thrilled to collaborate with Marvell in providing pre-validated IVR power solutions to their XPU customers,” said Noah Sturcken, CEO of Ferric. These compact IVRs integrate directly into advanced processors, reducing power delivery distance and minimizing losses by up to 85%.
The collaboration targets the growing demands of multi-kilowatt compute platforms in AI and cloud data centers. By placing IVRs under, near, or inside the package, the solution delivers 3-4 amperes per sq. mm, doubling the current density of typical solutions (1.5-2 amperes per sq. mm). “Placing IVR under, near, or inside the package delivers greater performance and efficiency,” said Will Chu, senior vice president and general manager of Custom Cloud Solutions at Marvell. This enhances dynamic voltage scaling and supports 4+ kilowatt compute platforms.
Marvell, a leader in data infrastructure with a $64.62B market cap (per the finance card above), strengthens its custom silicon offerings through this partnership. The collaboration aligns with Marvell’s broader strategy, including partnerships with Infineon, MPS, and Empower Semiconductor, to advance power delivery for AI. Posts on X highlight market enthusiasm, noting the transformative potential for cloud computing efficiency.
Ferric and Marvell’s partnership positions them to lead in power-efficient AI infrastructure, delivering scalable, high-performance solutions for hyperscalers while addressing critical energy bottlenecks.
