Synopsys is showcasing major advancements in AI-driven engineering at NVIDIA GTC, highlighting how its expanded portfolio, now united with Ansys, accelerates innovation from semiconductor design to large-scale system simulation. Through deepened collaboration with NVIDIA, Synopsys is integrating agentic AI and GPU acceleration to tackle systemic complexity, making engineering workflows smarter, faster, and more intuitive.

Quick Intel

  • Synopsys is collaborating with NVIDIA on Agentic AI for autonomous semiconductor design flows.

  • New chip design agents can identify critical bugs missed by manual review.

  • Ansys Fluent fluid simulation achieved a 500x speedup using NVIDIA GPUs and AI.

  • Synopsys QuantumATK materials simulation saw a 15x improvement in time-to-results.

  • The company offers the industry's broadest portfolio of nearly 20 GPU-accelerated products.

  • These advancements are being showcased at NVIDIA GTC in Washington, D.C.

Agentic AI for Next-Generation Chip Development
A key announcement is a new collaboration focused on agentic AI for semiconductor design. By integrating Synopsys AgentEngineer™ technology with the NVIDIA NeMo Agent Toolkit, the companies aim to create autonomous design flows that enhance productivity and improve design quality. This technology acts as an optimizer and collaborator, with early use cases in formal verification already demonstrating an ability to identify critical bugs that would have been missed manually. NVIDIA is currently piloting this technology, validating its impact on advanced design processes.

Revolutionizing Physics Simulation with GPU Acceleration
Synopsys is delivering monumental speedups in computational simulation. Its Ansys Fluent fluid simulation software achieved a 500x speedup by leveraging NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs and AI initialization with the NVIDIA PhysicsNeMo framework. This reduces a simulation that once took two weeks to approximately 40 minutes. Shankar Krishnamoorthy, Chief Product Development Officer at Synopsys, said: "Synopsys is leading this transformation for our customers with pioneering AI capabilities and the industry's broadest portfolio of GPU-accelerated products. Together with NVIDIA, we are a catalyst for next-generation engineering capabilities, velocity, and ingenuity."

Accelerating Materials Discovery
In materials science, Synopsys QuantumATK atomistic simulation software, integrated with NVIDIA CUDA-X libraries, now provides up to a 15x improvement in time-to-results. This allows researchers to simulate and analyze new materials with unprecedented speed. A use case with Northrop Grumman Microelectronics Center shows this approach cutting development time from weeks to hours, speeding innovation by 6-10x and solving previously impossible challenges.

These integrations represent a fundamental shift in engineering capability. By embedding AI and massive GPU acceleration directly into core design and simulation tools, Synopsys and NVIDIA are empowering engineers to overcome traditional barriers, dramatically accelerating the pace of innovation across industries from aerospace to semiconductors.
