ScaleOut Software has significantly upgraded its flagship distributed caching technology by integrating generative AI capabilities. The new "Gen AI Release" empowers users to create real-time analytics and visualizations from live data stored in the cache using simple natural-language prompts, transforming how organizations identify and respond to emerging trends.

Quick Intel

  • ScaleOut Software enhances its Active Caching platform with generative AI.

  • Users can create charts and queries using natural-language prompts.

  • The feature automates real-time analytics on fast-changing, in-memory data.

  • It is designed for both technical and non-technical users.

  • The update also includes a new object browser and support for Amazon SQS.

  • The goal is to help businesses spot trends and respond to changing conditions instantly.

Democratizing Real-Time Analytics with AI

The core enhancement allows non-technical users to leverage a large language model (OpenAI) directly within the management UI. By typing a natural-language prompt, users can automatically generate charts, queries, and geospatial visualizations that track changes to JSON-encoded data within the distributed cache. This eliminates the need for complex coding or query languages, making real-time operational intelligence accessible to a broader range of personnel.

This capability is critical for scenarios requiring immediate action. For instance, an e-commerce retailer can visualize customer reactions to a flash sale in real time and optimize the campaign to maximize revenue, capturing perishable opportunities as they arise.

Powering Operational Intelligence at Scale

The integration builds upon ScaleOut Active Caching's foundational technology, which runs application code directly within the distributed cache. By combining this with Gen AI, the platform strengthens an organization's ability to achieve operational intelligence. It enables businesses to not only store and process fast-changing data but also to instantly analyze and visualize it for immediate decision-making.

“With the addition of Gen AI to ScaleOut Active Caching, we’re delivering powerful new capabilities for extracting insights from fast-changing data,” said Dr. William Bain, CEO and founder of ScaleOut Software. “That’s where the unique combination of active caching with Gen AI-powered analytics enables customers to strengthen their operational intelligence, increase efficiency, and respond to changing conditions in real time.”

Additional Platform Enhancements

Beyond the Gen AI features, this release introduces a next-generation object browser with improved search, filtering, and usability for viewing cached objects. It also adds support for connecting to Amazon Simple Queuing Service (SQS), allowing ScaleOut Active Caching to process messages directly from SQS queues, further expanding its integration capabilities within modern cloud architectures.
