SAS Viya’s Leadership in GenAI Engineering

SAS, a global pioneer in data and AI, was named an Emerging Leader in the 2025 Gartner Emerging Market Quadrant for Generative AI Engineering, launched in mid-2024 to provide insights into the fast-evolving AI market. The quadrant evaluates vendors on their ability to manage the full lifecycle of generative AI models, such as large language models (LLMs), for production applications. “At SAS, we’re seeing enterprises of all sizes looking beyond simple prompting with GenAI to support their growth and productivity,” said Brett Wujek, Head of Product Strategy for Next-Gen AI.

Comprehensive AI Lifecycle Management

Per Gartner’s report, the generative AI engineering submarket includes platforms for AI orchestration, model chaining, agent development, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) accelerators. SAS Viya stands out for its comprehensive lifecycle management, enabling enterprises to develop, refine, and deploy GenAI models efficiently. This capability supports organizations in scaling AI solutions for real-world applications.

Multi-Agent Orchestration and Automation

SAS Viya’s multi-agent orchestration drives intelligent automation, allowing complex workflows to be managed seamlessly. This feature enhances productivity by enabling enterprises to integrate AI into operational processes, moving beyond basic GenAI prompting to deliver measurable business outcomes.

Synthetic Data for Responsible AI

A key differentiator for SAS is its mature synthetic data generation, which addresses critical concerns like privacy, bias mitigation, and model robustness. By creating high-quality synthetic datasets, SAS Viya ensures responsible AI innovation, making it a vital tool for enterprises navigating regulatory and ethical challenges in GenAI deployment.
