The findings highlight that the vast majority of C-suite leaders (82%) maintain high confidence in GenAI, while overall enterprise confidence grew 5 percent compared to the beginning of the year. Vendor capabilities also saw a notable jump in confidence, underscoring a shifting landscape for enterprise AI adoption.

The report shows enterprise confidence in GenAI adoption rose from 72% to 77% compared to the original 1H 2025 survey. The C-suite remains the most confident group at 82%, while middle management continues to express the greatest hesitation, with 11% reporting low confidence.
One of the most notable findings is the 16% increase in confidence in vendors’ abilities to implement GenAI solutions, rising from 62% to 78%. This suggests enterprises increasingly trust external providers to deliver operational benefits where internal capabilities may fall short.
Customer service took a decisive lead as the most anticipated application of GenAI, jumping from 17% to 27%. IT (19%) and marketing (11%) followed as strong areas of application, while HR and sales each secured 9%, reflecting broader enterprise interest in AI-driven solutions.
The reasons for not implementing GenAI shifted significantly over the last six months. Respondents citing “no clear benefit” dropped sharply from 30% to 18%. Meanwhile, ROI concerns surged to 33%, making financial justification the leading barrier to adoption.
The survey was conducted online in the United States and Europe between May 19 and July 18, 2025. A total of 9,350 managers and executives who participate in company strategy discussions were invited, with 689 completing the survey.
