The rapid adoption of Generative AI is creating significant security challenges, with 83% of organizations using AI daily but only 13% having strong visibility into how it interacts with enterprise data. To address this, Cyera has launched Access Trail, a new solution that provides detailed insight into every data touchpoint across human and AI interactions. Announced at the DataSecAI25 conference, this innovation is part of a broader platform update designed to unify data visibility and enable safe AI adoption at scale.
Cyera launches Access Trail to monitor all data access by humans and AI systems.
This addresses a major gap where 83% use AI, but only 13% have strong data visibility.
The feature offers one-year retention of access event logs for audits and investigations.
It helps demonstrate compliance, investigate insider threats, and monitor AI data usage.
Cyera also announced GA for AI Protect and EA for AI-SPM capabilities.
A new GenAI assistant, Cy, was introduced in private beta for natural language security queries.
Access Trail is built to provide clarity in an increasingly complex data environment where autonomous agents continuously transform how data moves. It combines Cyera's deep data classification with identity context—for both human and non-human users—to connect every access action to data sensitivity, ownership, and business context. Guy Gertner, VP of Product at Cyera, stated, “With AI fundamentally changing how data is created and accessed, security teams need a new level of visibility. Access Trail delivers that clarity, helping organizations monitor every interaction between data and the humans, systems, and AI accessing it, and giving them the confidence to move faster while staying secure and compliant.”
The newly introduced Access Trail empowers security and compliance teams with several critical capabilities. It allows organizations to demonstrate compliance with evidence by automatically generating verifiable audit reports. Teams can investigate insider threats by correlating access patterns with data sensitivity in near real-time. A core function is the ability to monitor how AI uses data, maintaining transparency and control over AI operations. Furthermore, it helps reduce risk through least privilege by proactively detecting and remediating excessive permissions based on actual activity data. When issues are identified, they can be addressed using Cyera’s automated remediation capabilities.
Alongside Access Trail, Cyera announced significant enhancements across its platform to build a more secure AI future. AI Security Posture Management (AI-SPM) is now in Early Access, enabling customers to discover and inventory all types of AI while mapping data risk. AI Protect is now Generally Available for public applications and Microsoft 365, providing the ability to detect and automatically block risky actions like non-compliant prompts. The company also introduced Cy, a GenAI assistant in private beta that allows users to query their data security posture using plain language, transforming complex data environments into actionable intelligence.
These collective innovations position Cyera at the convergence of data and access security, providing the foundational visibility and control required for enterprises to confidently embrace AI while mitigating the inherent risks to their most sensitive data.
