Leadership Transition in Digital Strategy

AIG has appointed Scott Hallworth as Chief Digital Officer to spearhead its digital, data, and generative AI (GenAI) strategies. Effective September 1, 2025, Hallworth will join AIG’s Executive Leadership Team in New York, initially reporting to Claude Wade, Executive Vice President, Chief Digital Officer, and Global Head of Business Operations & Claims. Wade will transition to an advisory role in January 2026 due to health concerns, with Hallworth then reporting directly to Chairman and CEO Peter Zaffino.

Hallworth’s Extensive Expertise

With over 30 years of experience, Hallworth brings a wealth of knowledge from the technology, banking, and insurance sectors. Previously, he served as Chief Data Officer at Fortune 500 companies like Hewlett Packard Inc. and Capital One, and as Senior Vice President & Chief Actuary at Travelers. “Scott Hallworth brings a deep, technical background in digital, GenAI and actuarial capabilities to AIG,” said Mr. Zaffino. “His distinguished track record of bringing GenAI to market and scaling across complex organizations makes him exceptionally well-qualified to join AIG at this exciting time as we continue to shape the future of our company and the industry.”

Driving GenAI and Innovation

Hallworth’s role will focus on scaling GenAI across AIG’s operations to drive enterprise-wide standards and innovation. “I am honored to join AIG and to work with Peter Zaffino and his leadership team to accelerate this next chapter of growth for the company,” said Mr. Hallworth. “AIG has a strong foundation in data and digital innovation, and I am excited to collaborate with the team to leverage the continuous advancements in GenAI to drive innovation and impact at scale.”
