The launch enables business users to create AI-powered automations using natural language instead of technical configurations, while expanding integrations, governance capabilities, and collaboration features across the platform. Wrike's latest release centers on its Conversational AI Agent Builder, a no-code capability designed to help teams automate complex workflows through simple natural language instructions. Rather than relying on technical expertise or prompt engineering, users can describe their desired workflow, allowing the platform to generate and deploy AI-powered automations more efficiently.
The company says the launch addresses one of the biggest barriers to enterprise AI adoption by making advanced automation accessible to business users across departments instead of limiting it to technical teams.
Alongside the conversational builder, Wrike has introduced significant improvements to its AI Agents. The updated agents can now access richer workspace context by analyzing parent items, sibling tasks, formula fields, and additional project information before taking action.
New ordered execution capabilities also allow AI agents to perform multi-step workflows sequentially, using outputs from previous actions to improve accuracy and consistency. Additionally, smart importance automation enables AI to automatically prioritize tasks based on their content and existing workflow data.
These enhancements allow AI agents to restructure project folders, update custom fields, manage approvals, post to Slack and Microsoft Teams, send emails through Gmail and Outlook, and automate complex business processes across enterprise environments.
Wrike has also expanded its AI ecosystem through additional Model Context Protocol (MCP) integrations. The company highlighted rapid growth in MCP server connections since early 2026, enabling AI agents to collaborate across external platforms more effectively.
A new Klaxoon by Wrike MCP connection allows AI assistants to convert workshop ideas into structured work items inside Wrike or generate collaborative workshop boards using natural language prompts. The company's MCP Server is also now available through OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google marketplaces, extending Wrike's enterprise AI capabilities across leading AI ecosystems.
To help organizations deploy AI responsibly, Wrike has introduced new governance features that give administrators greater control over AI usage. Organizations can now enable or disable AI capabilities by user type while monitoring AI consumption across users and agents.
Additional platform enhancements include archiving unused workflows and custom fields, enforcing mandatory data collection during workflow transitions, and sharing workflows across multiple organizational spaces without duplication. These updates aim to improve data consistency while providing a stronger operational foundation for AI-powered work management.
