Synergis Software has announced the general availability of Adept Cloud, a cloud-native SaaS engineering document management platform designed for asset-intensive industries including manufacturing, utilities, oil and gas, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and mining.
Built as a browser-based platform, Adept Cloud delivers the full functionality of the Adept engineering document management system without requiring local infrastructure, VPN access, or ongoing IT maintenance. The platform is hosted, maintained, and continuously updated by Synergis Software.
Synergis Software developed Adept Cloud to address growing demand for cloud-based engineering document management systems capable of supporting highly regulated and operationally complex industries.
The company said organizations managing large engineering environments require secure access to accurate document revisions, CAD integrations, workflow controls, and audit traceability to support compliance, operational safety, and project execution.
"We built Adept Cloud because our customers told us where they needed to go — and we made a commitment to get them there," said Kristen Tomasic, President of Synergis Software.
"What we built isn't just a cloud version of Adept. It's a modern, cloud-native platform — architected for the security, reliability, and scalability that asset-intensive organizations require for the decade ahead."
According to Synergis, Adept Cloud was designed specifically to support the operational complexity of engineering-focused organizations.
The platform includes support for CAD relationships, controlled workflows, audit requirements, and large-scale engineering document environments.
"The question we heard most from engineering organizations was whether a cloud EDMS could really handle the complexity of what they do," said Todd Cummings, Vice President of Product Strategy at Synergis Software.
"The CAD relationships, the controlled workflows, the audit requirements, the scale. Adept Cloud was built to answer that question with confidence. The answer is yes."
Synergis also stated that the cloud-native platform will become the foundation for future innovation across both SaaS and on-premise deployments.
The Adept Cloud platform includes Adept AI, an embedded artificial intelligence layer designed to help organizations surface engineering information faster and improve access to critical operational data.
Synergis said the AI functionality is focused on accelerating document-intensive workflows while helping organizations unlock greater value from engineering data already stored within the platform.
"Engineering information is one of the most valuable and underutilized assets in any industrial organization," said Scott Lamond, Vice President of Marketing at Synergis Software.
"Adept AI changes that by putting intelligence to work at the platform layer — inside the system where the data already lives, with the governance and security that asset-intensive industries require."
Synergis Software said all Adept Cloud plans — Essentials, Professional, and Enterprise — include unlimited users without per-seat licensing costs.
The company noted this approach allows engineering teams, field personnel, and plant-floor employees to access engineering documentation without licensing restrictions.
Synergis will host customer and public webinars in June to introduce organizations to the Adept Cloud platform and onboarding process.
The launch comes as Synergis Adept continues to gain recognition in the engineering document management software market.
The platform was recently named the top-ranked engineering document management solution in G2’s 2026 Best Software Awards and received distinctions for Best Support, Best Relationship, and Highest User Adoption.
Synergis Software says Adept Cloud represents a long-term strategic investment in cloud-native engineering information management, AI-driven workflows, and scalable infrastructure for industrial organizations managing complex operational environments.
Synergis Software is the creator of Adept, a leading engineering document management platform trusted by global organizations including Dow, Con Edison, Merck, and General Mills — and named to G2's 2026 Best Software Awards as the top-ranked engineering document management platform. For more than 35 years, Synergis has helped asset-intensive industries — including manufacturing, chemicals, utilities, oil and gas, life sciences, and mining — centralize, govern, and leverage engineering information to accelerate projects, strengthen compliance, and reduce operational risk. Adept is available both as a fully managed SaaS platform and as an on-premise solution.
