Superhuman has announced the launch of Superhuman Docs, introducing an AI-native collaborative workspace that evolves the former Coda platform into a key component of the Superhuman productivity suite. The new offering combines flexible documents with advanced AI capabilities, enabling teams to generate content, build interactive workflows, manage structured data, and collaborate in real time without leaving their workspace.

Quick Intel

  • Superhuman launched AI-native Superhuman Docs, evolving the former Coda platform.
  • Docs AI generates content, tables, workflows, and interactive views using natural language prompts.
  • New AI Views, Databases, AI Blocks, and MCP integrations expand enterprise productivity.
  • Teams can connect live data from tools like Jira, Salesforce, and Asana into collaborative documents.
  • Native desktop and mobile applications deliver an improved cross-platform experience.
  • The platform aims to make AI a collaborative team capability instead of an individual productivity tool.

Superhuman Introduces AI-Native Docs Platform

Superhuman Docs combines a flexible document editor with AI-powered collaboration, allowing users to create documents, project trackers, structured databases, and custom interfaces using simple natural language prompts.

Unlike traditional document platforms, Superhuman Docs incorporates interactive building blocks including tables, formulas, automations, and live integrations. Docs AI can draft content, build formatted tables, resolve comments, retrieve information from connected documents, research topics from the web, and recommend additional workflows based on document context.

New AI Capabilities Expand Enterprise Productivity

The launch introduces several AI-powered capabilities designed for enterprise collaboration.

Docs AI acts as an intelligent assistant capable of reading, planning, writing, tracking projects, and building workflows directly inside documents.

AI Views (currently in private beta) allows users to describe custom applications, dashboards, or interfaces that are automatically generated on top of structured data without requiring programming knowledge.

AI Blocks and AI Columns automate repetitive tasks by generating summaries, actions, insights, and dynamically populated data fields that update as information changes.

Superhuman also introduced Superhuman Databases (private beta), enabling organizations to manage enterprise-scale structured datasets with support for up to one million rows while keeping information synchronized across documents.

AI Collaboration Instead of Individual Productivity

Superhuman positions Docs as a response to a growing challenge in workplace AI adoption. While many employees already use AI tools individually, collaborative workflows often remain fragmented because AI-generated work must be manually transferred into documents and project management systems.

With Superhuman Docs, AI-generated content remains inside the collaborative workspace where teammates can edit, expand, review, and build on the work together. Users can also ask the AI to conduct research, generate feedback, or continue developing documents while preserving organizational context.

“We’ve spent over 10 years making Coda the most flexible surface for teams to write, track, and build together,” said Lane Shackleton, Head of Superhuman Docs. “Superhuman Docs is the next chapter. When AI lives inside the same surface where teams already collaborate, it stops being a private tool one person uses in a side window and becomes a true team multiplier. Anyone can describe what they need, our AI uses context from the doc and builds it immediately, and the whole team can edit, refine, and improve on it together.”

Enterprise Workflows Powered by Connected Data

Superhuman Docs integrates with business platforms including Jira, Salesforce, and Asana, allowing teams to build live project dashboards, campaign hubs, sales reports, and operational workflows without manually copying data.

The platform also introduces Model Context Protocol (MCP) integration, allowing AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Claude, and Cursor to securely read from and write to Superhuman Docs and tables in real time.

Additional enhancements include new native applications for macOS, iOS, and Android, along with fullscreen table pages that improve large-scale data management and operational workflows.

Expanding the Superhuman Productivity Suite

Superhuman Docs represents the company's broader vision of embedding AI across workplace productivity. Existing Coda customers will automatically transition to Superhuman Docs and receive access to Docs AI alongside the platform's updated collaboration capabilities.

The launch reflects a growing shift toward AI-native workspaces that combine document collaboration, structured data management, workflow automation, and enterprise AI within a unified platform.
