Smart Communications™, a leading technology company focused on helping highly regulated organizations engage in more meaningful customer conversations, today announced the appointment of Heidi Johnson as Chief Product and Technology Officer. Johnson will succeed Simon Tindal, who is retiring from Smart Communications, and will lead the company's innovation strategy and product and technology organization.
Heidi Johnson joins Smart Communications with a proven track record of developing and scaling enterprise-grade platforms in highly regulated environments. Her background includes senior leadership roles at Bloomberg, IHS Markit, Komodo Health, and Carta, where she drove customer-centric solutions leveraging cloud, data, and AI technologies. Johnson also brings strategic insight from her time as Chief Product Officer in Residence at Products That Count and mentoring at MIT Sandbox.
Simon Tindal, who played a pivotal role in establishing the technological foundation of Smart Communications over nearly two decades, will retire to pursue a new personal venture. He will remain closely involved as a full-time advisor in the coming months, collaborating with Johnson to ensure continuity and sustained momentum.
“Heidi brings a proven track record of building and scaling enterprise-grade platforms, with deep expertise in product, cloud, data, and AI in highly regulated environments,” said Leigh Segall, CEO of Smart Communications. “Her customer-centric approach and ability to translate complex technology into tangible business impact make her the right leader for this next chapter. She enters this role with a strong foundation, built through Simon’s extraordinary contributions over more than two decades.
