Skild AI has acquired Zebra Technologies' Robotics Automation business, including its Symmetry Fulfillment orchestration platform. This strategic move combines Skild AI’s omnibodied AI software with Zebra’s proven orchestration capabilities to deliver unified warehouse automation at scale.
Warehouse robots today are typically programmed for specific tasks and locked to particular hardware. Changing the robot often means starting the programming process from scratch. Skild AI’s Skild Brain changes this paradigm by generalizing across different robot types — including humanoids, mobile robots, and industrial arms — without requiring retraining for each new body form.
With the addition of Zebra’s battle-tested Symmetry orchestration platform, Skild AI can now deploy and manage entire fleets of robots in real time, working seamlessly alongside human workers in existing warehouse environments.
The acquisition allows Skild AI to offer a complete automation solution for modern warehouses. This includes humanoids for pick-and-place operations, robotic dogs for inspection, robotic arms for packing, autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) for material movement, and a single orchestration layer to control all of them.
Logistics operators will no longer need to redesign their warehouses around specific robots or work with multiple fragmented vendors. Instead, they can implement a unified intelligent system that adapts to their existing infrastructure.
