As enterprises globally shift from AI experimentation to full-scale deployment, the barriers of technical complexity, operational risk, and cybersecurity vulnerabilities have grown sharper. Against this backdrop, Singapore has taken a series of coordinated steps to help its enterprise ecosystem navigate the transition with greater confidence. At ATxEnterprise 2026, part of Asia Tech x Singapore and jointly organised by the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) and Informa, Senior Minister of State for the Ministry of Digital Development and Information, Mr. Tan Kiat How, announced a set of new initiatives spanning AI adoption, cyber resilience, and quantum-safe infrastructure, reinforcing Singapore's position as a digitally progressive economy built for long-term resilience.

  • Singapore's IMDA announced new AI, cybersecurity, and quantum-safe infrastructure initiatives at ATxEnterprise 2026 under the Digital Enterprise Blueprint (DEB).
  • The inaugural SME AI Impact Awards 2026 will recognize up to 30 enterprises for achieving measurable business outcomes through AI, with nominations open from 1 June to 14 August 2026.
  • New DEB partnerships with Grab and RSM Stone Forest IT aim to reach 12,000 additional SMEs, bringing the programme's total target to 50,000 SMEs by 2029.
  • IMDA, SkillsFuture Singapore, and Workforce Singapore have jointly developed an AI for Enterprise Impact Playbook built on insights from over 1,000 enterprise engagements.
  • Sonar launched a new AI remediation agent at ATxSummit Singapore, co-developed with IMDA engineers, to automatically detect and fix code issues arising from AI-assisted software development.
  • IMDA has signed a Memorandum of Intent with Singtel, Ericsson, and NCS Singapore to pilot and validate quantum-safe technologies for Singapore's telecommunications infrastructure.

Singapore Accelerates Enterprise AI Adoption with New Recognition and Support Frameworks

AI adoption among Singapore enterprises has grown at a pace that few anticipated. According to IMDA's Singapore Digital Economy Report 2025, AI adoption among small and medium enterprises (SMEs) more than tripled from 4.2% to 14.5% in just one year, while adoption rates among non-SMEs rose from 44% to 62.5% in 2024. The pace of growth signals genuine momentum, but also highlights the need for structured support to ensure that adoption translates into measurable business outcomes rather than isolated pilots.

To recognize enterprises achieving exactly that, IMDA and the Singapore Business Federation will jointly launch the inaugural SME AI Impact Awards 2026, under the National AI Impact Programme (NAIIP) and in support of the National AI Strategy (NAIS). The awards will recognize up to 30 winners across two categories: enterprises that have developed proprietary AI tools, and those that have successfully deployed off-the-shelf AI solutions. Winners will receive the SME AI Impact Award Trustmark, designed to strengthen business credibility and market reputation. Nominations open on 1 June 2026 and close on 14 August 2026, with winners to be announced at SMEs Go Digital Day on 13 October 2026.

New Partnerships Expand the Digital Enterprise Blueprint's Reach

Building on the Digital Enterprise Blueprint, which has already supported over 26,000 SMEs since its launch in May 2024, IMDA is bringing two new partners on board to deepen enterprise AI and cybersecurity capabilities at the SME level.

Grab will launch the Grab AI Programme for SMEs in collaboration with IMDA, targeting 10,000 food and beverage, e-commerce, and retail SMEs through AI literacy initiatives, training, and practical adoption support. The programme includes online training resources, webinars, masterclasses, and a two-day AI course co-developed with the Singapore University of Technology and Design, enabling SMEs to build practical AI roadmaps using IMDA pre-approved solutions.

RSM Stone Forest IT will launch the RSM Cyber2SME Programme, offering complimentary phishing simulation exercises to 2,000 SMEs alongside cybersecurity awareness workshops covering cyber risks. Up to 1,000 SMEs will additionally benefit from awareness webinars and tabletop exercises addressing cyber risks, AI and data threats, and incident response strategies, a timely intervention given that more than eight in ten organisations experienced at least one cybersecurity incident annually.

With Grab and RSM now part of the DEB ecosystem, IMDA aims to reach 12,000 additional SMEs, moving the programme closer to its target of supporting 50,000 SMEs by 2029.

AI for Enterprise Impact Playbook Consolidates Government Resources

Recognizing that fragmented guidance remains one of the most common obstacles to enterprise AI adoption, IMDA, SkillsFuture Singapore, and Workforce Singapore have jointly developed the AI for Enterprise Impact Playbook. Built on insights from over 1,000 enterprise engagements, the Playbook is designed to help digitally progressive enterprises assess their AI readiness, identify relevant support mechanisms, and take actionable next steps.

A key feature of the Playbook is its consolidation of programmes and resources from IMDA, Enterprise Singapore, SkillsFuture Singapore, and Workforce Singapore into a single, coherent framework, reducing the navigation burden for enterprises seeking government-backed AI transformation support.

Sonar Launches AI Remediation Agent to Address Code Vulnerabilities

As AI-assisted software development becomes standard practice, the security risks introduced by AI-generated code have emerged as a growing concern. At ATxSummit Singapore, Sonar globally launched a new AI remediation agent, co-developed with engineers from IMDA and Singapore, that automatically detects, fixes, and validates code issues generated through AI-assisted development workflows. The tool is designed to give enterprises greater confidence in deploying AI-enabled coding tools without compromising on security standards.

Singapore Moves Toward Quantum-Safe Telecommunications Infrastructure

Looking further ahead, Singapore is also laying the groundwork to defend its digital infrastructure against the threat posed by quantum computing. IMDA has signed a Memorandum of Intent with Singtel, Ericsson, and NCS Singapore to pilot and validate quantum-safe technologies for migrating Singtel's infrastructure and systems. The collaboration is intended to strengthen Singapore's defences against quantum threats, support broader adoption of quantum-safe standards across the telecommunications sector, and position Singapore as a regional reference point for secure quantum-era transformation.

The breadth of announcements at ATxEnterprise 2026 reflects a deliberate and multi-layered approach to digital resilience, one that addresses the immediate needs of SMEs navigating AI adoption, the near-term challenge of scaling cybersecurity awareness, and the longer-horizon risk of quantum threats to critical infrastructure. Taken together, these initiatives position Singapore not merely as a beneficiary of global technology trends but as an active architect of the frameworks and safeguards that will define responsible, secure digital transformation across the Asia-Pacific region.
