Siemens has appointed Vasi Philomin as Executive Vice President and Head of Data & Artificial Intelligence, effective July 1, 2025, to accelerate its AI portfolio growth. Announced on June 30, 2025, this strategic hire strengthens Siemens’ leadership in industrial AI, leveraging Philomin’s expertise to enhance applications like the Industrial Copilot and develop a safe, reliable industrial foundational model.

Philomin, formerly Vice President of Generative AI at AWS, where he led the development of Amazon Bedrock and foundation models, joins Siemens to scale its AI-driven offerings. “We are delighted to welcome Vasi Philomin to Siemens. Philomin’s appointment aligns with Siemens’ focus on bridging the physical and digital worlds. “The next great frontier for artificial intelligence is the physical world – powering machines, factories, and infrastructure that sense, reason, and act,” Philomin said. With Siemens’ global industrial footprint and partnerships, such as its 2023 collaboration with Microsoft, Philomin will drive the development of secure, industrial-grade AI solutions. His prior roles at Philips, leading computer vision initiatives, and his PhD in Computer Science with over 100 U.S. patents, position him to unlock new opportunities across Siemens’ technology stack.
