The demand for high-density AI compute infrastructure continues to surge, driving significant expansion in data center capacity. In a major move to address this need, SHARON AI, Australia's leading Neocloud, has entered into a substantial agreement with NEXTDC to secure up to 50MW of additional data center capacity across the Asia-Pacific region, solidifying its position in the sovereign AI infrastructure market.
SHARON AI signs a 50MW data center capacity expansion agreement with NEXTDC.
The capacity spans NEXTDC's data center network across Australia and Asia-Pacific.
This infrastructure can support over 20,000 high-end NVIDIA GPUs like the B200 and GB300.
The expansion builds on SHARON AI's existing GPU cluster in NEXTDC's Melbourne M3 facility.
The deal supports the growing demand for sovereign, high-density GPU capacity for AI.
It enables SHARON AI to scale its cloud offering for enterprise, government, and research.
This capacity agreement is a direct response to the accelerating global demand for AI compute. The expansion is framed as essential for building sovereign AI infrastructure, which ensures that critical computing resources and data remain within a nation's jurisdiction for security and regulatory purposes. The collaboration highlights the critical role that secure, scalable data centers play in enabling the next wave of AI development and adoption across the Asia-Pacific region.
The new capacity provides SHARON AI with the foundational power and space to materially expand its fleet of advanced NVIDIA GPUs. This infrastructure is engineered specifically for AI workloads, capable of accommodating over 20,000 of NVIDIA's latest B200, B300, or GB300 GPUs. This scale is necessary to support the development of large-scale AI factories and to meet the compute needs of enterprise, government, and research customers requiring immense processing power.
“AI infrastructure is the foundation of the intelligence economy,” said Craig Scroggie, CEO of NEXTDC. “SHARON AI, in collaboration with NVIDIA, is deploying sovereign, high-density GPU capacity engineered for AI at speed and scale. This collaboration highlights the rapid acceleration of global AI development and the essential role that secure, sovereign infrastructure plays in enabling this growth across the region.”
“We are excited to have expanded our relationship with NEXTDC and to be building additional sovereign AI GPU compute infrastructure in Australia,” said Wolf Schubert, CEO of SHARON AI. “This capacity expansion agreement ensures we have the energy and data center capacity to materially expand our GPU fleet and cloud offering to enterprise, government and research customers in the region and beyond.”
This strategic expansion positions SHARON AI as a critical infrastructure provider in the region, ready to support the escalating computational demands of the global AI industry with a sovereign focus.
