Now included in SerpApi's 100+ APIs at no additional cost, Markdown output transforms the same structured search data available in JSON into clean, LLM-friendly Markdown. The new format reduces token consumption by roughly 50% on average, with some APIs seeing reductions of up to 90%, helping developers fit more relevant context into model context windows.

The launch of Markdown output represents latest step in SerpApi's efforts to build infrastructure purpose-built for AI and agentic applications. Developers can choose between JSON and Markdown results on request-by-request basis, depending on needs. While JSON remains ideal for software development and structured data processing, Markdown output is optimized for LLM and agent-based workflows where token efficiency is critical.
