Searchable, an AI visibility platform, announced today that it has acquired Meridian Tech, Inc., a New York-based AI search visibility startup, in a seven-figure deal. The UK's largest answer engine optimization startup is expanding in the United States, acquiring Meridian's product and customer base.

The move by Searchable, which launched in late 2025, is part of a further expansion into the United States as it also opens an office in Salt Lake City. Meridian's customers, which include APL, MedCline, and VKTRY, will migrate onto Searchable's platform, and the Meridian product will be folded into Searchable.

Why Searchable Acquired Meridian for AEO Expansion in the US

It is one of the first deals between two dedicated AI visibility startups, in a category known as answer engine optimization, which focuses on getting brands named and recommended inside AI-generated answers.

Searchable now works with over 1,000 brands. It tracks mentions, citations and comparisons across 10 AI engines, then shows companies how to get recommended inside them. Its corpus covers more than one billion AI citations and 400 million brand mentions. In May 2026 the company raised $14 million in seed funding led by Headline at an $85 million valuation, in a market projected to reach $10.7 billion by 2031.

Searchable's acquisition of Meridian adds high-quality U.S. accounts and a New York base from a company that launched publicly in October 2025.

How Meridian Product and Customer Base Strengthens AI Visibility Platform

The acquisition brings Meridian's product and customer base into Searchable as it expands its US footprint with a new office in Salt Lake City. The move strengthens Searchable's position as the UK's largest answer engine optimization startup expanding in the United States.

"American brands are some of the furthest ahead in the AI visibility race," said Chris Donnelly, co-founder and CEO of Searchable. "Meridian brings us a strong base of businesses that want to push their AEO strategy even further."

"We launched Meridian because it was clear just how little visibility businesses had over how people are finding them and what people are reading about them inside AI chatbots," said Alex Dees, co-founder and CEO of Meridian. "Searchable's team and product will be vital in continuing to lead that mission for Meridian's customers."

The deal underscores accelerating consolidation in AI visibility and AI search tracking as brands seek to understand and improve how they appear across AI-generated answers.
