Research Solutions a leading provider of AI-powered scientific research tools, announces integrations of two of its core products, Scite and Article Galaxy, for Microsoft Copilot. Together, they let Copilot users search and evaluate scientific literature, then check access rights and pricing on the papers behind an answer, without leaving Microsoft 365.
The integrations pair two capabilities that enterprise research teams have had to manage separately. Scite grounds Copilot answers in peer-reviewed evidence and shows how findings hold up across the literature. Article Galaxy connects those answers to an organization's entitlements, reuse rights, and acquisition options, so teams can act on what they find in a compliant way.
Both run within Microsoft Copilot's security and compliance framework, a requirement for the corporate and academic organizations standardized on Microsoft 365.
"Researchers across the enterprise have moved their work into AI tools like Copilot," said Roy W. Olivier, Chief Executive Officer, Research Solutions. "By bringing Scite and Article Galaxy into that environment as integrations, we give those teams trusted evidence and a compliant path to the literature in the place they already work. It reflects the strategy we have built across our portfolio: connect our products to the AI tools our customers use, and become the research layer they rely on."
AI assistants generate fluent answers quickly, but their coverage of scholarly material is limited, and they cannot tell a well-supported finding from a contested one. Scite closes that gap with Smart Citations, which read the full text of citing articles and classify each citation as supporting, contrasting, or mentioning the work it references. Scite's index spans peer-reviewed journal articles, book chapters, preprints, patents, clinical trials, and research grants, and surfaces editorial notices such as retractions and expressions of concern, along with regulatory and safety content.
With Scite in Copilot, teams can check their work against literature by bringing document, presentation or email thread into Copilot, add scholarly evidence to Researcher agent combining internal knowledge with peer-reviewed research, and give Copilot scientific context reading Microsoft 365 content alongside research record.
Finding the right paper is only half the work. Article Galaxy handles other half inside Copilot checking whether team already holds article through subscriptions, cost to obtain, and permitted uses. Article Galaxy returns rights for specific uses, including generative-AI and text-and-data-mining rights at individual-article level.
With Article Galaxy in Copilot, teams can check availability, access options and pricing by DOI, retrieve available full text and Smart Citation content, review reuse rights including generative-AI use, and track existing orders and view account usage and remaining quota.
The two integrations extend Research Solutions' connected AI strategy linking Scite to ChatGPT, Claude, Claude Code, Cursor and other MCP-enabled tools. Positioning as trusted evidence and compliant-access layer for enterprise AI.
"Our customers turn to Microsoft Copilot for their most important work, and they benefit when they can bring specialized, trusted sources into that experience," said Chantrelle Nielsen, Principal Product Manager, Microsoft Copilot at Microsoft. "By integrating Scite and Article Galaxy with Microsoft Copilot, Research Solutions gives research teams a way to ground their work in the scientific literature and manage how that content is accessed and used in the apps they rely on every day."
