Qodo, the AI Code Quality and Governance Platform, today announced launch of its Agentic Toolbox, a unified suite of agent tools and skills designed to serve as dedicated quality counterpart to AI coding agents. Qodo's Agentic Toolbox addresses market need to move beyond standalone AI assistants by enabling agent-first systems that coordinate specialized agents under human-defined policies. The announcement was made from New York on September 9, 2026.

Quick Intel

  • Qodo launches first agent-to-agent code review and governance with new agent-first toolbox.
  • Agentic Toolbox integrates independent adversarial code review directly into AI coding workflows.
  • Addresses challenge where engineering decisions delegated to agents lacking system history and standards context.
  • Suite enables agents to invoke specialized Qodo agents drawing context from repos, PR history, specs, and standards.
  • Integrates directly with agent environments including Claude Code, Codex, and Kiro.
  • Engineering leaders define standards, risk boundaries, and escalation policies with consistent visibility.

Quality Layer Guides and Governs Agent-Generated Changes Before Risk

First wave of AI development tools accelerated code generation, but autonomous coding agents introduce more consequential challenge: engineering decisions delegated to agents that may not understand system history, dependencies, and organizational standards impacted by code they write or change. This creates urgent need for independent quality layer that can guide, review, and govern agent-generated changes before they introduce risk.

Qodo's Agentic Toolbox brings that quality layer directly into agent workflow. As coding agents work, they invoke Qodo's specialized agents and tools which draw context from across repositories, pull request history, specifications, and engineering standards to challenge plans and changes, identify risks, and validate fixes in real time. With Qodo platform, engineering leaders define standards, risk boundaries, and escalation policies under which agents operate.

"Developers want the freedom to choose whichever coding agent best fits their workflow, but engineering leaders need one consistent quality and governance layer across all of them," said Itamar Friedman, CEO and co-founder of Qodo. "The Agentic Toolbox introduces a system of checks and balances for agentic software development, making quality part of the infrastructure around agent-driven software creation, not a checkpoint at the end."

Toolbox Integrates with Claude Code, Codex, and Kiro for Real-Time Review

Integrating directly with agent environments including Claude Code, Codex, and Kiro, Agentic Toolbox gives agents access to Qodo's review and governance capabilities throughout development workflow: Understand before they change by examining architecture, dependencies, development history, and live code changes; Review code before pull request including committed and uncommitted changes; Act directly on review findings retrieving structured findings to investigate and fix open issues; Apply standards from start giving agents relevant organizational rules before implementation; Manage policies conversationally allowing authorized administrators to create and apply coding standards through natural-language instructions.
