Qlik, a global leader in data integration, analytics, and AI, has announced the upcoming launch of its Qlik Cloud® Canada region on Amazon Web Services (AWS), set to be available in 2026. This initiative, revealed on September 9, 2025, supports Canadian enterprises and public sector organizations in maintaining data sovereignty, reducing latency, and operationalizing governed AI workflows.

  • Qlik Cloud Canada region on AWS to launch in 2026.

  • Ensures data residency for sensitive workloads in Canada.

  • Reduces latency for real-time analytics and AI applications.

  • Pursuing Canadian Centre for Cyber Security (CCCS) Medium assessment.

  • Supports hybrid environments and seamless migrations.

  • Complements Qlik’s R&D center and partnerships in Canada.

Empowering Data Sovereignty and AI Innovation

The Qlik Cloud Canada region addresses the growing need for Canadian organizations to restrict sensitive data movement across borders while maintaining high performance. By hosting Qlik Cloud on AWS in Canada, the platform minimizes latency for data integration, analytics, and AI workloads, enabling real-time decision-making. “Canadian executives are clear. Data sovereignty is a priority, and AI must answer to the business,” said Mike Capone, Chief Executive Officer at Qlik. “With Qlik’s data and analytics foundations operating in Canada, leaders will turn governed data into accountable decisions at production speed.”

Supporting Compliance and Governance

Qlik is pursuing the Canadian Centre for Cyber Security (CCCS) Medium assessment, aligning with Canada’s ITSG-33 requirements. Once achieved, this will enable Qlik to process, transfer, and store data for Government of Canada agencies, supporting public sector use cases. The platform ensures governed pipelines and auditable AI, helping organizations meet federal and provincial compliance obligations while maintaining transparency for regulators and auditors.

Key Features of the Canada Region

The Qlik Cloud Canada region offers:

  • Data Residency: Ensures sensitive workloads stay within Canada.

  • Lower Latency: Enhances performance for real-time analytics and AI.

  • Governed AI: Provides explainable, auditable AI workflows.

  • Open Ecosystem: Supports migrations and hybrid environments on AWS.

Strategic Investment in Canada

This launch builds on Qlik’s ongoing investment in Canada, including a major R&D center in Ottawa and a robust network of partners and customers. The Canada region supports seamless transitions for existing Qlik customers moving from on-premises or other cloud regions, with core capabilities like data integration, data quality, analytics, and AI available from launch, and additional services to be added progressively.
