Postman, the world's leading API platform, has announced significant product enhancements designed to help enterprises build AI-ready APIs. As AI agents become more integral to software, the reliability and governance of the APIs that feed them data have become a critical enterprise challenge. These new features address this by advancing governance, automation, and visibility, ensuring APIs are safe, discoverable, and reliable for both human developers and AI systems.
Postman launches new features to make enterprise APIs AI-ready.
The updates focus on API governance, automation, and unified visibility.
A new "Spec Hub" enhances governance and standardization for large teams.
Pipeline-native validation ensures every API change is tested in real-world conditions.
The goal is to provide the trust and safety that AI systems require from APIs.
These enhancements help enterprises scale API development without sacrificing security.
A core update is the enhancement of Postman's governance capabilities through the Spec Hub. This feature acts as a governance backbone, offering bidirectional specification synchronization, modular multi-file specs, and new governance reporting. This allows large development teams to standardize API design and enforce governance policies across every project, a critical step for ensuring APIs are consistent and trustworthy enough for AI agents to consume. “Enterprises are realizing that their APIs are not yet AI-ready,” said Balaji Raghavan, Head of Engineering at Postman. “Today’s updates establish the governance, automation, and observability needed to make APIs safe, reliable, and discoverable by both humans and AI systems."
To ensure reliability, Postman is introducing pipeline-native validation tools. Private API Runners and On-Demand Monitors extend the platform's testing framework to deploy-time gates and internal environments, validating every API change under real-world conditions. Integrations with Slack and Microsoft Teams bring test results and alerts directly into collaboration tools for faster response times. Furthermore, new Runner Management provides platform admins with full visibility into API test automation activity, health, and access, enabling enterprise-scale operations without compromising on security or compliance.
These comprehensive updates position Postman as a control plane for the modern API ecosystem. By providing the necessary tools for governance, automated testing, and centralized visibility, Postman enables enterprises to accelerate their AI adoption with confidence, ensuring the underlying APIs that power intelligent agents are robust, secure, and built for scale.
