Platformr, an AI cloud operations company and Amazon Web Services (AWS) Partner, today announced recent release of two additions to its Optics AI Suite: the Optics Tag Manager agent and the Optics Remote MCP Server. Tag Manager lets cloud teams manage all resource tags across multiple AWS accounts from single agent interface, including tags AWS partner programs such as Partner Revenue Measurement (PRM) rely on. MCP Server connects AI assistants teams already use to their Platformr Organizations.

Quick Intel

  • Platformr expands Optics AI Suite with Tag Manager and MCP Server bringing conversational AWS governance to every AI workflow.
  • Optics Tag Manager audits and applies AWS resource tags across entire AWS Organization in plain English via single agent interface.
  • Handles cost allocation, ABAC policies, partner program attribution and operational targeting for Systems Manager and Backup.
  • Built for AWS partner programs tags including PRM tag aws-apn-id and MAP tracking qualifying usage via tags.
  • Optics Remote MCP Server connects agentic workspaces like Claude, Kiro, Copilot to Platformr Organizations without new credentials.
  • Available now Tag Manager under Settings > Optics in Platformr console; MCP Server available to all customers with free evaluation option.

Tag Manager: Consistent Tags Across Whole Organization Just by Asking

Tags do far more than label resources. They drive cost allocation, attribute-based access control (ABAC) policies, partner program attribution, and operational targeting for services like AWS Systems Manager and AWS Backup. Keeping them consistent across dozens of accounts is hard and getting them wrong has real consequences: resources drift, cost attribution becomes unreliable, cleanup turns into weeks of scripting.

With Optics Tag Manager, team member describes outcome in plain English such as "Show me every EC2 instance in us-east-1 and us-west-2 missing a CostCenter tag, then apply CostCenter=Platform-Engineering to any instance tagged Environment=prod." Optics agent finds every matching resource across organization and applies change within customer guardrails. Structured query builder targets by account, region, resource type, and tag presence. Teams can add, update, remove, or rename tags at scale, preview full impact before anything runs, and share Tag Compliance Report.

Tag Manager governed by design. Its service role scoped strictly to tagging operations. It cannot read application data, change resource configuration, or create or delete resources. Customers can layer own Service Control Policies over it and every action recorded in customer's own AWS CloudTrail with Platformr activity log capturing request behind it. Because Tag Manager runs on Optics Discovery, requests resolve against live view of organization at moment made not cached inventory.

Built for tagging AWS partner programs depend on. For MSPs and SIs tags carry weight beyond cost reporting. AWS programs such as PRM can attribute AWS usage to partner's solution through resource tag and Migration Acceleration Program (MAP) uses tags to track qualifying usage. Tag Manager can read, add, update, and remove PRM tag like any other so teams can audit Organization for resources missing it, apply in bulk, and catch drift before affects attribution. Resources deployed through Platformr already carry PRM tag and Tag Manager covers rest.

"Fixing tags shouldn't mean weeks of writing scripts and cleaning up account by account," said George Rolston, Co-Founder and VP of Product at Platformr. "Optics Tag Manager lets partners and customers ask for outcome they want, preview it, and apply it, including PRM tag, across every account inside guardrails security teams set."

Optics MCP Server: Platformr Inside AI Tools Teams Already Use

Optics MCP Server lets teams run Platformr in own AI agent of choice. Users add server to agentic workspace, sign in with existing Platformr account and work with AWS environments in plain English. No new credentials and no new console.

Through MCP Server teams can evaluate any number of AWS Organizations, list Platformr Organizations, switch between them, run security evaluations and pull scored results in single chat session, discover resources across subscribed Organizations with read-only access including mapping accounts to workloads and fetching detailed configurations, manage Foundation and workloads reviewing saved settings before deployment, checking deployment status, asking why deployment failed and getting failed stack and relevant error from build logs, importing existing AWS Organization through guided dialogue, and building dashboards turning evaluation results into interactive visuals such as scores by organization and findings by workload.

Anyone can evaluate AWS Organizations for free with no Platformr subscription required by creating evaluation Platformr Organization directly from agentic workspaces like Claude, Kiro, Copilot or custom Strands agent. MCP is open standard for connecting AI models to real systems.

"Your AWS configuration, data, and reporting should be available wherever team already works," said Rolston. "With Optics MCP Server engineer in Claude or developer in Kiro can evaluate configuration, check on deployments, and build reporting dashboards in plain English, with no new credentials and no new console."
