Simkins' appointment comes as Plainsight advances its VizOps platform, providing a standardized infrastructure layer for enterprise-grade computer vision. Most recently, Simkins founded and led Kosai, an open-source supply chain security innovator acquired by Root.io in August 2025. Previously, he served as CFO at Canonical, Appgate, and CyberGRX, where he built high-performing teams during periods of hyper-growth.
