OLI is making easier for engineers to move between chemistry modeling and data analysis with introduction of Microsoft Excel import and export in Version 12.7. New functionality reduces manual data handling and potential for transcription errors while providing greater flexibility to evaluate and share results in Excel.
OLI Version 12.7 simplifies chemistry data workflows with Excel data exchange.
"Engineers need freedom to work with their data in applications that make sense for each stage of analysis," said Lisa Williams, Chief Service Officer at OLI. "Our focus with Version 12.7 has been on making that process more straightforward allowing users to spend less time preparing information and more time interpreting chemistry and applying results."
Version 12.7 also introduces Simple Membrane new process unit in OLI Flowsheet ESP that extends modeling support for nanofiltration and other ion-selective membrane separations. Development addresses applications in water treatment and lithium recovery where conventional reverse osmosis models may not adequately represent separation process.
Engineers can specify rejection rates for individual ions and define water recovery with OLI calculating resulting permeate and concentrate streams. Unit maintains electroneutrality and retains OLI thermodynamic and thermophysical calculations allowing engineers to assess properties including mineral scaling and osmotic pressure within wider flowsheet.
