Okta , with a current stock price of $92.257, and Palo Alto Networks, with a current stock price of $192.067, announced on July 15, 2025, an expanded partnership to deliver a unified AI-driven security architecture. This collaboration introduces two key integrations to enhance identity-based defenses, streamline threat responses, and secure application access for nearly 2,000 joint customers, addressing the growing complexity of AI-powered cyber threats.

  • Okta and Palo Alto Networks deepen partnership with two new AI-driven integrations.
  • Okta Workforce Identity integrates with Prisma Access Browser for secure SSO access.
  • Identity Threat Protection with Okta AI connects with Cortex XSIAM and XDR for unified threat response.
  • Supports nearly 2,000 joint customers, reducing costs and operational complexity.
  • Addresses AI-supercharged credential attacks with real-time, automated defenses.
  • Virtual event, "Zero Friction Defense," hosted on July 15, 2025, to showcase integrations.

Unified Security Architecture

The partnership focuses on integrating Okta’s identity management expertise with Palo Alto Networks’ AI-driven security platforms. “AI is supercharging attacks on user credentials, requiring a ‘fight AI with AI’ approach that brings identity directly into an organization's security infrastructure for a real-time and unified response,” said Stephen Lee, VP of Technology Partnerships at Okta. The integrations aim to eliminate security silos, providing a comprehensive view of identity-related risks and enabling automated responses to sophisticated threats.

Key Integrations

  1. Okta Workforce Identity and Prisma Access Browser: This integration enforces conditional access controls, restricting single sign-on (SSO) application access to Palo Alto Networks’ secure browser. It ensures secure access to corporate web applications from both managed and unmanaged devices, enhancing visibility and control for security teams while maintaining a seamless user experience.
  2. Identity Threat Protection with Okta AI and Cortex Platforms: By connecting Okta’s Identity Threat Protection with Palo Alto Networks’ Cortex XSIAM and Cortex XDR, this integration enables dynamic enforcement of additional authentication steps for risky user activities. It triggers automated responses, such as revoking access, ending sessions, or quarantining endpoints, to mitigate threats in real time.

Addressing Modern Cyber Threats

The partnership responds to an evolving threat landscape where AI-driven attacks, such as credential theft and session hijacking, demand rapid, coordinated defenses. “Identity plays a critical role in cybersecurity,” said Pam Cyr, VP of Technical Partnerships at Palo Alto Networks. “Our deep integrations with Okta ensure that our solutions are engineered to work together, making it easier for our customers to achieve higher levels of security and user experience.” The integrations reduce operational costs and complexity by consolidating security tools and streamlining identity and access management (IAM) workflows.

Industry Impact and Customer Benefits

“CISOs are clear: to move at pace with the threat landscape, security teams need integrated platforms, not just more solutions,” said Maxine Holt, Vice President, Enterprise & Channel Research at Omdia. The partnership’s focus on unified platforms helps enterprises address challenges posed by cloud services, SaaS applications, and remote work. With Okta’s 20,000 customers and $4.08 billion in remaining performance obligations, and Palo Alto Networks’ robust growth despite shorter contract durations, both companies are well-positioned to deliver scalable, AI-driven security solutions.

Okta and Palo Alto Networks’ expanded partnership, highlighted by their July 15, 2025, virtual event “Zero Friction Defense,” sets a new standard for identity-driven cybersecurity. By leveraging AI to unify threat detection and access control, the collaboration empowers enterprises to stay ahead of sophisticated attacks while enhancing operational efficiency.
