The integration of observability data into AI-powered workflows is set to accelerate how engineering teams resolve issues. New Relic, the Intelligent Observability company, has announced new agentic AI integrations with Microsoft Azure that deliver its observability insights directly to the Azure SRE Agent and Microsoft Foundry. These innovations, powered by New Relic's AI Model Context Protocol (MCP) Server, are designed to help developers, DevOps, and SREs reduce mean time to resolution (MTTR) and increase productivity by automating incident analysis within their existing workflows.

Its AI MCP Server provides observability data to the Azure SRE Agent for automated incident analysis.
The integration helps automate root cause analysis and remediation across the application stack.
New Relic Monitoring for Microsoft Foundry gives developers performance insights for their AI apps.
The goal is to reduce context-switching and speed up problem resolution for engineering teams.
These integrations aim to harness AI for growth by reducing downtime and boosting productivity.
A key integration connects New Relic's AI MCP Server with the Azure SRE Agent. When an alert fires in New Relic or a deployment is recorded, the Azure SRE Agent can now call the New Relic MCP Server to retrieve intelligent observability insights. This provides the data necessary to automate incident detection, root cause analysis, and remediation recommendations across a customer's entire environment, including services, browser, and mobile applications. This moves problem-solving from a manual investigation to an AI-assisted, automated workflow. “With our new integrations, we bring our AI-strengthened observability directly into Microsoft Azure products and services so teams can automate workflows and surface actionable insights, without having to context-switch,” said New Relic Chief Product Officer Brian Emerson.
For developers building and managing AI applications and agents within Microsoft Foundry, New Relic now provides critical performance telemetry. The New Relic Monitoring for Microsoft Foundry integration ingests logs and metrics from Azure into the New Relic platform, delivering a nuanced view of how AI apps and agents are performing in production. This gives IT practitioners and developers the insights they need to understand application health and user impact directly within their development environment.
To further accelerate root cause analysis, New Relic is tailoring its infrastructure solution for Azure. New Relic Azure Autodiscovery allows SREs and platform engineers to view full service dependency maps and overlay configuration changes directly on performance graphs. This unified, real-time view helps pinpoint the root cause of incidents in minutes rather than hours by correlating infrastructure changes, telemetry, and configuration data, effectively reducing observability blind spots.
By embedding its observability data directly into the AI agents and development platforms that engineers use daily, New Relic is making intelligent insights a native part of the workflow. This approach addresses the core challenge of disjointed tools and context-switching, empowering teams to build more reliable software and resolve issues faster in an increasingly complex digital estate.
