Moveworks, a leading AI Assistant for enterprises, has announced a new partnership with Asana, a prominent work management platform. This collaboration is set to integrate Moveworks' agentic AI technology directly into Asana, enabling mutual customers to automate complex, end-to-end workflows. By combining Moveworks' ability to understand and resolve natural language requests with Asana’s work organization capabilities, the partnership aims to help employees focus on strategic work by automating repetitive administrative tasks. The integration, featuring pre-built agent templates, is now available in the Moveworks AI Agent Marketplace.

Quick Intel

  • Moveworks and Asana have partnered to bring AI-powered automation to the Asana platform.

  • The partnership leverages Moveworks' agentic AI to understand natural language and automate tasks.

  • The integration will enable users to create and update tasks, projects, and reports in Asana simply by asking questions in chat platforms.

  • Key use cases include intelligent task creation from chat, automated project summaries, and multi-step workflow orchestration across different business systems.

  • The collaboration is designed to help teams focus on high-impact work by handling repetitive, administrative tasks.

  • The new integration is available to joint customers through the Moveworks AI Agent Marketplace.

Automating Workflows Across Siloed Systems

The partnership between Moveworks and Asana aims to unlock significant productivity gains by connecting and automating work across what are often siloed systems. Moveworks' AI agents, which can be accessed from its AI Agent Marketplace, will allow employees to manage projects, create tasks, and track progress within Asana without ever leaving their natural flow of work, such as a chat application like Slack or Microsoft Teams.

According to Bhavin Shah, CEO of Moveworks, the integration will empower every team to automate administrative tasks and receive intelligent support. This is a significant step toward solving key operational challenges and enabling powerful, end-to-end automation.

Enhancing Productivity with Intelligent Automation

This collaboration will enable a variety of new use cases for customers. The Moveworks AI Assistant can automatically create a detailed task, assign it, and set a due date within the correct Asana project based on a simple query from an employee. The AI Assistant can also provide an AI-generated summary of a project’s health and task status directly from Asana, offering managers real-time insights without manual reporting.

Additionally, Moveworks' Reasoning Engine can autonomously complete multi-step tasks that involve both Asana and other business systems, seamlessly orchestrating complex workflows. Tony Lam, Head of Technology Partnerships at Asana, stated that this collaboration will give customers new ways to orchestrate work with agentic AI, allowing them to focus on high-impact outcomes while the AI handles repetitive tasks.
