Mixpanel, a global leader in digital analytics, has named Jen Taylor as its new CEO, succeeding Amir Movafaghi, who led the company for nine years and will transition to an advisory role. Taylor’s appointment comes at a pivotal moment as Mixpanel evolves into a fully integrated digital analytics platform, leveraging AI to accelerate innovation and growth.
Mixpanel’s transition to Jen Taylor as CEO follows a period of robust growth, with double-digit annual increases and consistent profitability. The company has scaled into a leading digital analytics platform, trusted by industry giants like LG, Rakuten Viber, and Experian. “We needed the right person to lead Mixpanel into the future — someone who understands our culture and values and aligns with the company we want to keep building,” said Movafaghi. “Jen exceeds all those requirements, with a proven track record at inspiring brands where she led with a customer-focused mindset and operational clarity and developed world-class teams.”
Under Movafaghi’s leadership, Mixpanel expanded from product analytics to a comprehensive digital analytics platform. New features like warehouse connectors, Mirror, Session Replay, and Metric Trees enable real-time, self-service analysis and centralized customer insights. These innovations empower businesses to unify data sources and make faster, data-driven decisions. “Amir’s leadership and the correlated innovations at Mixpanel are extraordinary,” said Taylor. “We are at a transformational moment where AI is reshaping how teams access insights and make decisions.”
Taylor brings a wealth of experience, having served as President at Plaid and Chief Product Officer at Cloudflare, where she drove revenue growth from $100 million to $1 billion. Her prior roles at Salesforce, Facebook, and Adobe focused on product innovation and data initiatives. “Jen has a remarkable track record of building customer-focused products and leading high-performing teams,” said Dewey Awad, Mixpanel board member and Partner at Bain Capital. “As AI reshapes the technology landscape, we are confident she will guide Mixpanel to expand its impact and deliver even more powerful analytic solutions for our customers.”
Amir Movafaghi, who led Mixpanel since 2018, leaves a legacy of innovation and growth, having guided the company to a $1.05 billion valuation with a $200 million Series C in 2021. He will remain in an advisory capacity to support Taylor and the board while taking time to reflect and document his journey. “Amir has provided outstanding leadership as CEO over the past nine years, building an organization that is well positioned to scale to the next level,” said Peter Levine, Mixpanel board member and General Partner at Andreessen Horowitz.
Taylor’s leadership will focus on delivering an AI-first analytics platform, building on Mixpanel’s momentum to drive innovation and customer value. “Mixpanel has the product, the people, and the momentum to lead this next era of analytics,” Taylor said. The company’s advancements position it to meet the growing demand for AI-driven insights, helping businesses optimize user behavior analytics and achieve critical outcomes.
Mixpanel’s appointment of Jen Taylor signals a bold step forward in its mission to lead digital analytics, leveraging AI to empower businesses globally with actionable, real-time insights.
