Mirantis, a leader in Kubernetes-native AI infrastructure, announced significant milestones on August 27, 2025, reinforcing its role in enabling enterprises to build scalable, secure, and sovereign AI infrastructure. The company’s advancements include a new VMware migration guide, customer deployments, product innovations, and participation in upcoming industry conferences.

Quick Intel

  • Recognition: Named Challenger in 2025 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Container Management and Strong Performer in Forrester Wave Q3 2025.

  • VMware Migration: Contributed to OpenInfra Foundation’s VMware to OpenStack guide.

  • Customer Deployments: Partnered with Pico Public Cloud for Bangladesh’s first sovereign cloud and Nebul for AI inference workloads.

  • Product Innovations: Enhanced k0rdent Enterprise UI and introduced Lens Prism AI assistant.

  • Events: Presenting at Kubernetes Community Day SF (Sep 9) and AI Infrastructure Field Day (Sep 10–11).

  • Focus: Simplifying AI, container, and VM workload management with open infrastructure.

Industry Recognition

Mirantis was recognized as a Challenger in the 2025 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Container Management, praised for its execution and vision. It also earned Strong Performer status in The Forrester Wave™: Multicloud Container Platforms, Q3 2025, scoring highest in roadmap, developer experience, and supporting services, highlighting its leadership in AI-focused PaaS solutions.

Strategic Milestones

To address uncertainty in the virtualization market post-Broadcom’s VMware acquisition, Mirantis contributed to the OpenInfra Foundation’s VMware to OpenStack migration guide, offering actionable steps for seamless transitions while maintaining operational continuity.

Mirantis partnered with Pico Public Cloud to launch Bangladesh’s first sovereign public cloud, delivering a compliant, regionally governed platform for local businesses. Additionally, Netherlands-based Nebul deployed Mirantis’ open-source k0rdent, integrated with NVIDIA GPU Operator and Gcore Everywhere Inference, to support scalable AI inference workloads optimized for privacy and performance.

Product Innovations

  • k0rdent Enterprise: The latest release features a user-friendly graphical UI for cluster management, observability, and troubleshooting, with configurable port access for enhanced enterprise control.

  • Lens Prism: This AI assistant, embedded in the Lens IDE, enables natural language queries (e.g., “What’s wrong with my pod?”) and provides actionable insights from real-time kubectl output, metrics, and logs. It also includes One-Click AWS Integration for seamless EKS cluster management across accounts and regions.

“By providing composable full-stack infrastructure solutions, we help enterprises accelerate innovation and reduce complexity,” said Dom Wilde, SVP of Marketing at Mirantis.

Upcoming Industry Events

Mirantis will share insights on scalable AI infrastructure at:

  • Kubernetes Community Day San Francisco (Sep 9, 2025): William Rizzo will present “Automatic Provisioning of Bare Metal Edge Systems for AI Inference,” focusing on resilient AI deployment in constrained environments.

  • AI Infrastructure Field Day (Sep 10–11, 2025): Mirantis will demonstrate IaaS and GPU PaaS use cases, highlighting its evolving AI infrastructure solutions.

Strategic Impact

Mirantis’ open-source, Kubernetes-native approach addresses the complexity of managing AI, container, and VM workloads, serving clients like Adobe, Ericsson, and PayPal. With 60% of enterprises expected to adopt Kubernetes for AI workloads by 2027, Mirantis’ solutions ensure scalability, sovereignty, and freedom from vendor lock-in, positioning it as a leader in the AI infrastructure landscape.
