Strategic Acquisition Enhances Sportstech Ecosystem

Minute Media, a global leader in sports technology and content, has acquired VideoVerse, an AI-powered video solutions provider backed by Moneta Ventures. Announced on September 9, 2025, this transaction represents a pivotal moment for the sportstech industry, combining VideoVerse’s innovative Magnifi platform with Minute Media’s robust distribution network. As Moneta Ventures’ largest equity holder in VideoVerse, the deal also marks a significant fund-returning exit while retaining a considerable equity stake in Minute Media.

VideoVerse’s Magnifi: Revolutionizing Sports Content

Founded in 2016, VideoVerse’s Magnifi platform leverages artificial intelligence, including computer vision, natural language processing, and machine learning, to automatically detect key moments in sports content and create real-time highlights. Its generative AI tools, such as multilingual subtitles, automated thumbnail creation, and a rules-based engine, streamline end-to-end workflows, enabling content teams to produce compelling short-form videos efficiently. Magnifi serves major clients like FIFA+, Pro Panja League, and Portugal Football Federation, enhancing their digital presence and viewership.

Synergies Driving Global Impact

“We are delighted to have acquired VideoVerse and are excited about the synergies it brings to our combined business,” says Asaf Peled, the Founder and CEO of Minute Media. “The acquisition allows us to incorporate AI creation capabilities into our platform, while giving VideoVerse the distribution and monetization solutions it needs to better serve customers around the world.” The integration of Magnifi with Minute Media’s STN Video platform, which reaches 200 million monthly users, strengthens content distribution and monetization for leagues, teams, and publishers across 14 global markets.

Moneta Ventures’ Role in VideoVerse’s Growth

Moneta Ventures, a key supporter since leading VideoVerse’s $5 million Seed round in 2021, played a critical role in its U.S. market expansion. “The Moneta team has been one of our greatest supporters over the years,” says VideoVerse CEO Vinayak Shrivastav. “There have been so many ups and downs along the way and they have always been a constant, supportive, and reassuring presence.” Lokesh Sikaria, Moneta’s Founder and Managing Partner, added, “Vinayak and his team have done a phenomenal job of growing VideoVerse into the great success that it is today. This is not only a very significant sportstech transaction, but also a fund-returning exit for Moneta that further validates our investment thesis.”

The acquisition positions Minute Media as a leader in AI-driven sports content creation and distribution, while Moneta Ventures’ continued equity stake ensures ongoing involvement in this transformative sportstech ecosystem.
