MediRoutes Launches Predictive ETAs for NEMT Based on Real Trips

MediRoutes Launches Predictive ETAs for NEMT Based on Real Trips

MediRoutes has launched Predictive ETAs for non-emergency medical transportation providers. Feature uses machine learning on GPS trip history to estimate how long each route will take. Dispatchers can build schedules on real trip history not on best guess from map. Brokers looking more closely at GPS reporting and operators asked to back up on-time performance with records that hold up.

Quick Intel

  • MediRoutes launches Predictive ETAs for NEMT providers announced Oct 13 2026 using machine learning on GPS history.
  • Collects GPS data from provider vehicles about every five seconds with 100M+ trips supported since 2008.
  • Estimates account for prior travel same route, time of day, day of week plus live traffic and update in real time.
  • Reflects full trip including loading, wheelchair securement and waits at facility door not just drive time.
  • Helps dispatchers decide which broker trips to accept avoiding unsupportable schedules and turning down coverable trips.
  • Integrated with largest brokers ModivCare, MTM, MAS plus dozen regional brokers available now in newest dispatch software.

Machine Learning on High-Frequency GPS Data Gives Trusted Travel Times

MediRoutes collects GPS data from provider vehicles about every five seconds. Predictive ETAs apply machine learning to that trip history and combine with live traffic conditions to estimate how long route likely to take. Estimates account for factors such as prior travel on same route, time of day and day of week, and they update in real time as trip progresses. MediRoutes supported more than 100 million NEMT trips since 2008 and accuracy improves as model draws on more data.

General map apps estimate drive time alone. NEMT trips also include loading and unloading, wheelchair or stretcher securement and waits at facility door. Predictive ETAs learn all of it from completed trips so estimate reflects full trip not just miles.

A planned route is only as good as travel times behind it. Been collecting granular GPS data on NEMT trips for nearly two decades. AI lets put all to work so dispatchers can build day they can actually deliver on.

Dispatch Advantage Turning Compliance Requirement Into Scheduling Benefit

A route doesn't take same time on Tuesday morning as it does on Friday afternoon and readings every few seconds give model enough detail to see difference. It learns from how trips truly went so numbers dispatcher builds day on reflect how each route really runs.

Dispatchers use estimates when building routes and when deciding which broker trips to accept. Travel time grounded in real trip history helps provider avoid taking on trip schedule can't support or turning down one it could have covered. Benefit reaches past dispatch too. Clinics, care facilities and riders waiting on pickup get ETAs they can plan around.

MediRoutes integrated with industry's largest brokers including ModivCare, MTM and MAS as well as more than dozen regional brokers. Predictive ETAs turn GPS data behind those integrations from compliance requirement into scheduling advantage. Predictive ETAs available now in newest version of MediRoutes dispatch software rolling out to customers ahead of full launch later this month.
