Marsh and Bloomberg New Economy have officially announced the creation of the Competitive Resilience Coalition. Unveiled at the Bloomberg New Economy Forum 2026 in New Delhi, the cross-sector initiative unites public and private sector leaders to help global enterprises navigate complex volatility—spanning macroeconomic shifts, climate pressures, and artificial intelligence—and turn risk management into competitive advantage.

Quick Intel

  • Marsh and Bloomberg New Economy launched the Competitive Resilience Coalition to guide organizations through systemic global disruptions.

  • Co-chaired by John Doyle (CEO of Marsh) and Karen Saltser (CEO of Bloomberg Media), the initiative features high-profile founding members from AIG, Mastercard, State Street, JLL, and GE HealthCare.

  • Recent executive data indicates that while 65% of CEOs view market volatility as an opportunity to outmaneuver competitors, 96% report heightened board-level concern over uncertainty.

  • The Coalition’s core focus areas span five critical decision domains: geopolitics/geoeconomics, the natural environment, digital and AI, operations, and people and trust.

  • Findings and frameworks will be developed through ongoing executive convenings and research, starting with insights shared at the 2026 New Economy Forum.

Turning Systemic Disruption Into Strategic Advantage

As modern leadership priorities shift from traditional planning to continuous adaptation, organizations face compounding pressures from shifting trade policies, climate-driven supply chain shocks, and rapid technological deployment. The Coalition is designed to cut through short-term noise by supplying practical frameworks that help executives anticipate risk, protect enterprise value, and sustain long-term growth.

"The Competitive Resilience Coalition will help leaders see the full picture and turn resilience into agility, growth, and ultimately opportunity," said John Doyle, President and CEO of Marsh and Coalition Co-Chair. "The organizations that gain clarity first do more than survive disruption — they move faster, invest with confidence, and gain ground while others are still assessing."

Karen Saltser, CEO of Bloomberg Media and Coalition Co-Chair, added: "Leaders are navigating geopolitical, technological and economic shifts that are moving faster and creating consequences far beyond any single market or industry. The Competitive Resilience Coalition brings together leaders with different perspectives to cut through the noise, challenge assumptions and better understand the forces shaping what comes next."

The Five Core Decision Domains

To structure its actionable guidance, the Coalition will initially center its research and dialogue around five interconnected domains that define modern enterprise risk:

  1. Geopolitics and Geoeconomics: Evaluating trade frictions, shifting sovereign alliances, and regulatory divergence.

  2. The Natural Environment: Managing physical asset exposure and climate adaptation as economic variables.

  3. Digital and AI: Securing dependencies around emerging technologies, quantum computing, and automated agent workflows.

  4. Operations: Safeguarding mission-critical systems and supply chains against sudden systemic failures.

  5. People and Trust: Preserving institutional knowledge and leadership pathways amidst workforce automation.
