Lucen Software has announced that Lucen Flowchart, the AI-assisted flowchart builder and editor that operates directly within PowerPoint, is out of beta and now generally available. Teams can prompt Lucen AI to generate process maps, decision trees, and swimlane diagrams in seconds, then edit the resulting PowerPoint shapes directly on the slides as processes and workflows change. The product is part of Lucen Software's Microsoft Clarity Platform, a suite of products that helps teams plan work, track progress, and communicate clearly within Microsoft applications.

Quick Intel

  • Lucen Software announces general availability of Lucen Flowchart.

  • Lucen Flowchart is an AI-assisted, PowerPoint-native flowchart builder and editor.

  • It could save teams more than 100 hours a year.

  • In a recent survey, 55% of regular diagramming tool users ranked manual diagram building as the top pain point.

  • Lucen Flowchart is offered in Free and Plus plans.

  • Plus costs $9 per month, billed annually at $108 per year.

Flowcharts help organizations visualize how work moves, yet creating and maintaining them is an ongoing challenge. In a recent Lucen Software survey of 308 respondents, manual diagram building was ranked as the number one pain point for 55% of regular diagramming tool users and 72% of non-users. While some teams are bogged down building and editing flowcharts in separate systems and re-exporting updates back into PowerPoint, others struggle to create high-quality diagrams altogether.

Lucen Flowchart could save teams more than 100 hours a year by eliminating the update, export, and re-paste cycle and turning plain-language descriptions into polished, editable diagrams in minutes with Lucen AI.

Executive Perspective

"Billions of dollars have been invested in communication and collaboration tools, but the reality is that critical business decisions are primarily communicated through PowerPoint," said Omair Sarwar, CEO of Lucen Software. "Communicating those updates needs to be simple and flexible. High-performing teams don't have time to wrestle with clunky tools or rebuild diagrams every time a process changes. Lucen AI lets them turn a rough idea into an editable flowchart in seconds, then refine it directly in PowerPoint so the visual stays aligned with the decisions being made."

Using Lucen Flowchart in PowerPoint

Lucen Flowchart can be used to support and create business process mapping, decision trees and troubleshooting guides, customer journey mapping and software development workflows.

Users can create diagrams directly in PowerPoint with Flowchart in three ways:

Create with Lucen AI: Describe a process in plain-language or upload an image to generate an editable diagram.

Start with a template: Choose from an extensive library of ready-to-use templates or create your own and save for future use. Adapt them as your team's processes evolve.

Build and update with auto layout: Map steps, decisions, and handoffs with native PowerPoint shapes. When the process changes, auto layout realigns everything in one click.

With each approach, the resulting graphic is directly created within the slide and remains editable there.

How Lucen Flowchart Helps Business Teams

Lucen Flowchart helps IT and operations teams, consultants, and other professional services teams:

Clarify responsibilities and identify bottlenecks: Map process steps, decision paths, and responsibilities in one diagram. Swimlanes make ownership and handoffs visible, enabling teams to identify where work stalls or steps are duplicated.

Standardize process documentation: Document standard operating procedures and recurring workflows using reusable templates and consistent formatting. Teams can maintain a common structure across process maps while adapting each diagram to the work it describes.

Get buy-in faster: Keep flowcharts in the deck where decisions get made, so stakeholders can approve the process in the meeting instead of chasing the latest version.

Keep diagrams current: Edit the process directly on the slide, then use auto layout to realign shapes and reroute connectors in one click as steps and responsibilities change.

Lucen Software's Growing Microsoft Clarity Platform

Lucen Flowchart joins Lucen Timeline and Lucen Track as a generally available product in Lucen Software's Microsoft Clarity Platform, a suite of products that turns complex work into clear, presentation-ready communication within Microsoft applications.

Each product serves a distinct purpose in the platform. Lucen Flowchart supports process mapping and diagramming in PowerPoint. Lucen Timeline creates project timelines and Gantt charts in PowerPoint. Lucen Track provides time-tracking and productivity insights in Excel, while Lucen Plan supports planning and work management in Excel. Together, these products help teams plan work, track progress, document processes, and communicate results using the Microsoft tools they already rely on.
