Lambda, a leader in AI cloud infrastructure, today announced the appointment of Charles Fisher as Chief Financial Officer. Fisher will oversee the company's capital strategy and financial operations during this pivotal expansion phase, building on Lambda's momentum in providing high-performance GPU compute for AI training and inference.
Fisher's role will be central to shaping Lambda's approach to capital formation and allocation at massive scale. As the company builds out the world's AI infrastructure, he will drive financial frameworks to fuel sustained growth, enhance capital markets capabilities, and ensure efficient resource deployment to meet surging demand for hyperscale AI compute solutions.
Fisher arrives with extensive leadership in finance for rapidly scaling and capital-intensive organizations. Most recently, he served as Chief Financial Officer at Turo, the world's largest car-sharing marketplace. Before that, he held the position of Executive Vice President of Corporate Finance & Development at Charter Communications, the second-largest broadband provider in the US, where he managed complex financial structures and supported significant business expansion.
"Lambda is building the world’s AI infrastructure; this effort requires the thoughtful formation and allocation of capital at a massive scale,” said Stephen Balaban, co-founder and CEO of Lambda. “Charles brings decades of experience from some of the fastest-growing and most capital-intensive businesses in America.”
“Lambda is building critical foundations for the AI-driven economy,” said Fisher. “I’m energized by the company’s ambition and the scale of the opportunity ahead. Building the financial infrastructure and capital framework to support sustained, long-term growth will be a key priority as Lambda continues to rise to meet the growing need for hyperscale AI infrastructure.”
This executive appointment strengthens Lambda's foundation as it scales to serve a diverse customer base—from individual AI researchers to large enterprises and hyperscalers. With Fisher's expertise in capital-intensive environments, Lambda is well-equipped to accelerate its mission of democratizing superintelligence compute and powering the next wave of AI innovation.
