As enterprises worldwide accelerate their digital transformation journeys, the ecosystem of service providers supporting SAP implementations is more critical than ever. Information Services Group (ISG) has launched a comprehensive research study to evaluate providers that offer SAP-based solutions, with a particular focus on cloud migration, SAP S/4HANA transformation, and the adoption of AI capabilities within the SAP landscape.
ISG has initiated a global study of service providers in the SAP ecosystem.
The research will evaluate providers on seven key service quadrants, including S/4HANA transformation and SAP Business AI.
The goal is to help enterprise buyers select partners for cloud migration and AI adoption.
The study responds to the impending phase-out of legacy SAP ECC systems.
Results will be published in a series of ISG Provider Lens® reports in May 2026.
Surveys have been distributed to over 140 providers across global markets.
This research comes at a pivotal time for the SAP market. With the legacy SAP ERP Central Component (ECC) approaching its end-of-life, a significant wave of migration to SAP S/4HANA and cloud-based models is underway. Enterprises are not just upgrading systems; they are reimagining their operating models to become more intelligent and connected. As Aman Munglani, senior director and principal analyst at ISG, noted, “Service providers guide clients in cloud migration, application management and AI adoption to unlock long-term business value.” This study aims to identify the partners best equipped to deliver that value.
The research will produce seven distinct quadrants, representing the core services enterprises are seeking. These include SAP S/4HANA System Transformation for both large accounts and the midmarket, evaluating providers on their ability to manage complex deployments and offer industry-specific templates. The study will also assess providers of SAP Application Managed Services and Managed Cloud Services for SAP ERP, focusing on optimization and support in hybrid environments. A significant focus will be on SAP Business AI and Business Technology Platform (BTP) Services, analyzing which providers can effectively deploy generative AI and machine learning within SAP applications.
The forthcoming reports are designed as a critical resource for enterprise buyers navigating a complex vendor landscape. The findings will help organizations evaluate their current vendor relationships and identify potential new partners for their SAP-driven transformations. The research will cover the global market with geographically focused reports for the U.S., Asia Pacific, Brazil, and Germany, ensuring regional relevance. The evaluation will incorporate expanded customer experience data, measuring actual enterprise experiences with specific provider services.
The ISG Provider Lens® study will provide a much-needed map of the SAP services terrain. By offering a data-driven evaluation of providers, it will empower enterprises to make informed decisions as they undertake critical transformations to modern, AI-enabled, and cloud-centric SAP systems.
The ISG Provider Lens® Quadrant research series is the only service provider evaluation of its kind to combine empirical, data-driven research and market analysis with the real-world experience and observations of ISG's global advisory team. Enterprises will find a wealth of detailed data and market analysis to help guide their selection of appropriate sourcing partners, while ISG advisors use the reports to validate their own market knowledge and make recommendations to ISG's enterprise clients. The research currently covers providers offering their services globally, across Europe, as well as in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Brazil, the U.K., France, Benelux, Germany, Switzerland, the Nordics, Australia and Singapore/Malaysia, with additional markets to be added in the future.
