Information Services Group (ISG) has launched new research studies to evaluate technology and service providers in the private and hybrid cloud data center market. The studies will examine how providers support enterprises in modernizing core IT environments, with a specific focus on AI-enabled capabilities for automation, sustainability, and resilient operations. The findings will be published in a series of ISG Provider Lens® reports scheduled for release in June 2026.
ISG launches research to evaluate providers of private and hybrid cloud data center services and solutions.
The studies will focus on providers supporting AI-driven, data-intensive enterprise workloads.
Reports will assess capabilities in AI-ready infrastructure, sustainability, edge computing, and resiliency.
Findings will be published in June 2026 across nine geographic and global market reports.
Enterprise buyers and ISG advisors will use the data to inform vendor selection and strategy.
The research highlights the shift to predictive, AI-automated management of hybrid IT environments.
The studies are a response to enterprises actively upgrading and transforming their core IT environments. As organizations reassess workload placement based on performance, risk, and regulatory needs, hybrid and private cloud models are gaining prominence. AI integration is a key theme, with providers leveraging it for operations automation, capacity planning, monitoring, and security. Sustainability is also a critical decision factor, as providers use AI to improve energy efficiency amid growing computational demands.
The services study will survey over 100 providers across eight geographic markets. It will evaluate them based on four key quadrants: AI-ready Infrastructure Managed Services (for end-to-end operations), Managed Cloud Hosting and Resilient Infrastructure Services (for business continuity), Sustainable Colocation Services (focusing on energy efficiency and circular practices), and Edge Computing Services (for distributed infrastructure deployment and management). Geographic reports will cover the U.S., Brazil, France, Germany, the Nordics, Switzerland, the U.K., and the U.S. Public Sector.
A separate global study will survey over 30 providers of private/hybrid cloud and data center solutions. This report will feature two quadrants: Hybrid Cloud Operations Platforms (AIOps Enabled), assessing integrated platforms for orchestrating and optimizing cloud environments with AI, and Resiliency Platforms, evaluating AI-powered systems for backup, disaster recovery, and cyber resilience across all cloud types.
The resulting reports are designed to serve as a strategic tool for enterprise buyers evaluating vendor relationships and new engagements. ISG advisors will also use the insights to provide recommendations to the firm's buy-side clients. “Enterprises are upgrading and transforming their core IT environments and operating models,” said Heiko Henkes, managing director, ISG Provider Lens Research. He noted that providers are increasingly using AI to support these initiatives through automation and improved functions.
By launching these comprehensive studies, ISG aims to map the evolving landscape of providers that enable modern, AI-augmented, and sustainable IT infrastructure. The research will provide a detailed evaluation of the capabilities enterprises need to support data-intensive and AI-driven workloads in increasingly complex hybrid environments.
