To address this critical need, Informatica has significantly deepened its collaboration with Microsoft, announcing three strategic innovations that integrate its Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC) with Microsoft Foundry. This partnership, unveiled at Microsoft Ignite 2025, is designed to empower organizations to build and deploy AI agents with confidence, leveraging governed data to accelerate adoption at scale while ensuring compliance.

A cornerstone of the announcement is the Informatica MCP Server for the Foundry Agent Service. This integration uses the industry-standard Model Context Protocol (MCP) to allow AI agents built within Foundry to connect directly to Informatica’s cloud data services. This provides agents with secure, near real-time access to governed data from Informatica’s Cloud Data Governance and Catalog, Data Quality, and Master Data Management services, ensuring AI decisions are based on reliable information.
To speed time-to-value, Informatica unveiled a library of new pre-built GenAI recipes and an agentic blueprint specifically designed for Microsoft Foundry. These include foundational agent templates like Simple React Agent and industry-specific solutions for loan processing and automobile insurance claims. These recipes help customers rapidly configure, build, and deploy enterprise-ready GenAI applications by leveraging Informatica’s data management backbone within the Foundry environment.
The collaboration also extends to Informatica’s CLAIRE AI engine, which now integrates with Foundry to deliver advanced reasoning across key data management services. This integration enhances data integration, quality, governance, and Master Data Management with AI-powered intelligence. Furthermore, CLAIRE is now natively available on Microsoft Azure regions in the U.S. and Europe, helping customers meet data residency and compliance requirements.
