Identifi Launches AI-Powered Signature Detection for Document Review

Identifi, the leading independent provider of workflow automation and document management software for banks and credit unions, announced the launch of AI Document Review, a signature detection capability built into its Document Tracking platform that scans documents at upload and identifies missing and misplaced signatures before those gaps surface as legal or compliance problems. The signature gap in traditional document tracking means systems were built to confirm what arrived, not to evaluate what is already there.

Quick Intel

  • Built on Microsoft Azure Document Intelligence.

  • Each document receives confidence score with Passed or Exception status.

  • Institutions can configure minimum confidence threshold at tenant level or by document type.

  • Exceptions surface inside existing Document Tracking module as separate exception type.

  • Future updates will add document type mismatches, index discrepancies, expired documents, and missing pages.

  • Identifi founded in 1988 with 35+ years in financial institution process automation.

The Signature Gap in Traditional Document Tracking

Institutions flag unfulfilled requirements, generate exception reports, and clear files when documents are added to the repository, but typically cannot confirm whether those documents are legally complete. As a result, documents such as lending contracts with blank signature lines, or collateral agreements signed in the wrong section, can sit in a repository for months without triggering a single exception. Institutions discover the problem too late, often when they need the documents for a foreclosure or court order. By then, collecting the missing signature means restarting proceedings that a review at intake would have prevented.

How Identifi's AI Document Review Works

Identifi's AI Document Review evaluates documents for signature completeness as soon as they are entered into the repository. Built on Microsoft Azure Document Intelligence, the AI identifies missing signatures, misplaced signatures, and misaligned paperwork. Each document receives a confidence score, and based on that score, the system assigns a status of Passed or Exception. Institutions can configure the minimum confidence threshold at the tenant level or by document type. AI Document Review exceptions surface inside the existing Document Tracking module as a separate exception type from missing document tracking, with no additional logins or parallel systems required.

As Kaushal Pandya, CEO of Identifi, stated: "No tracking system on the market could confirm whether a stored document was actually signed correctly. That's the gap AI Document Review closes, and it's one that institutions didn't know they could address until now."

Signature detection is the first capability included with AI Document Review. Future updates will extend the platform's document quality control to additional exception types, including document type mismatches, account and index discrepancies, expired documents, and missing pages.
