IDC Introduces AI-Powered Technology Intelligence Platform

IDC Quanta is designed to bring the company's research and market intelligence directly into the tools where employees perform their daily work, reducing the need to search separate research portals.

The platform integrates IDC's analyst findings, proprietary research, and quantitative datasets with enterprise workflows, allowing users to access sourced insights within applications such as email and Anthropic's Claude AI. IDC stated that additional integrations are planned as part of its product roadmap.

The company said the platform is intended to help organizations make technology investment decisions, prepare executive presentations, and support competitive analysis using verifiable information backed by more than six decades of research.

Built Around Embedded and Context-Aware Intelligence

According to IDC, Quanta combines its proprietary intelligence with an organization's own business context to deliver more relevant responses.

Organizations can upload documents, datasets, and internal information into private workspaces, allowing the platform to synthesize enterprise-specific information alongside IDC research. The company stated that uploaded customer content remains isolated from model training and is protected through encryption and security controls.

Five Core Design Principles

IDC said Quanta has been developed around five key principles designed to support enterprise AI adoption:

  • Embedded: Integrates with everyday workflow applications and AI tools.
  • Contextual: Combines IDC intelligence with enterprise-specific content and historical information.
  • Secure: Protects customer information through AES-256 encryption, SOC 2 certification, 90-day automatic deletion, and zero model training on customer data.
  • Aware and Proactive: Uses scheduled prompts and anonymized signals to deliver relevant intelligence proactively.
  • Rigorous: Validates responses through a multi-agent system using more than 15 billion proprietary quantitative data points, while providing citations, traceability, and reasoning behind each response.

IDC said the emphasis on source validation and explainability is intended to help organizations rely on AI-generated insights with greater confidence.

Enterprise Users Gain Access to Verified AI Insights

"The ability to ask a question and get an insight backed by specific, referenceable research is really the key to the tool," said Eric Walk, VP of AI and Data Platform Services, Perficient, a beta customer of IDC Quanta. "It's become another tool in my tool belt that my main workbench — the one I work from every day — can make calls out to and return better research and better information to power what I'm doing."

"IDC Quanta is the technology intelligence fabric of the AI-enabled enterprise," said Lorenzo Larini, Chief Executive Officer of IDC. "It embeds IDC's proprietary data and expert analysis directly into the workflows where work gets done. Intelligence doesn't sit in a portal waiting to be searched anymore. It moves with the work, securely pairing verified and traceable insights with each user's own context, to shape faster, sharper outcomes leaders can stand behind."

IDC Introduces New Subscription Model

Alongside the launch of IDC Quanta, IDC announced a redesigned subscription model that consolidates its research offerings into broader packages aligned with technology markets and industries.

The new subscriptions combine research, data, IDC Quanta access, analyst engagement, and access to selected IDC global conferences within a single offering.

According to the company, integrating these resources with IDC Quanta enables organizations to accelerate product strategy, go-to-market planning, IT decision-making, and other business initiatives by providing verified intelligence within existing workflows.

IDC said the platform has been shaped through testing with more than 175 beta customers and is now generally available.
