IBM, a leading provider of hybrid cloud and AI solutions, has announced the availability of new AI agents on the Oracle Fusion Applications AI Agent Marketplace. These agents are designed to significantly boost the operational efficiency for customers using Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications by automating complex enterprise tasks and workflows. The launch strengthens the ongoing collaboration between IBM and Oracle, leveraging their combined expertise in enterprise AI and business transformation to accelerate the adoption of agentic AI.

  • Launch Platform: IBM has launched three new AI agents directly onto the Oracle Fusion Applications AI Agent Marketplace.

  • Core Goal: The agents are designed to help Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications customers achieve new levels of operational efficiency and automation.

  • Building Tool: The initial three agents were built by IBM Consulting utilizing the Oracle AI Agent Studio.

  • Automation Focus: The new agents automate critical enterprise workflows in finance and sales, such as intercompany agreements and order-to-cash processes.

  • Future Plans: IBM plans to release complementary HR and Supply Chain agents built on IBM watsonx Orchestrate.

  • AI Model Collaboration: Oracle intends to make the IBM Granite 4.0 family of AI models available through Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Data Science.

IBM Agents Drive Automation in Oracle Fusion

The three new Oracle-validated agents from IBM Consulting are built to automate common and complex workflows seamlessly within Oracle Fusion Applications. This direct integration is a result of utilizing the Oracle AI Agent Studio, ensuring the agents are optimized for the platform.

The agents released are:

  • Intercompany Agent: This agent automates the time-consuming process of reviewing intercompany agreements.

  • Smart Sales Order Entry Agent: Designed to streamline the order-to-cash process, this agent accelerates sales-order creation by generating and validating relevant data.

  • Requisition to Contract Agent: This tool simplifies the traditionally complex workflow involved in converting initial purchase requisitions to formal contract purchase orders.

The partnership aims to deliver on the growing enterprise demand for AI to drive productivity and innovation. According to Neil Dhar, Global Managing Partner, IBM Consulting, "Oracle and IBM are combining our collective enterprise AI and business transformation expertise to help clients embrace agentic AI as a driver of innovation and competitive advantage. These new agents will bring the power of AI directly to our joint clients for the greatest potential impact on their business."

Expanding Ecosystem with watsonx Orchestrate

In addition to the agents built specifically with Oracle's studio, IBM announced strategic plans to further expand the AI ecosystem for Oracle Fusion Applications customers using its proprietary technology, IBM watsonx Orchestrate.

watsonx Orchestrate is an enterprise-grade AI solution focused on developing, deploying, and governing AI agents. The platform, which runs on Red Hat OpenShift AI, utilizes a multi-agent approach. Crucially, watsonx Orchestrate will serve as a multi-agent supervisor, allowing it to orchestrate agents across not only Oracle applications but also non-Oracle applications and data sources, offering broader enterprise-wide process transformation. The planned new agents will focus specifically on HR and supply chain processes.

Kaushal Kurapati, GVP of Product Management for Fusion AI, Oracle, highlighted the importance of partner contributions: "As AI agents rapidly transform enterprise applications, organizations are seeking new ways to drive productivity, agility, and innovation at scale. The new IBM AI agents in the Oracle AI Agent Marketplace, seamlessly built with Oracle AI Agent Studio, will help customers to address their unique business needs and drive growth with speed and confidence."

This announcement signifies a powerful strategic alignment between two enterprise technology giants to accelerate the integration of sophisticated AI capabilities directly into core business operations, transforming business processes and enabling clients to confidently scale their AI adoption.
