Holdings Launches Free AI Invoicing That Works Inside Claude, ChatGPT, and Cursor

Holdings Launches Free AI Invoicing That Works Inside Claude, ChatGPT, and Cursor

Holdings has launched free invoicing that runs directly inside AI assistants, including Anthropic's Claude, OpenAI's ChatGPT, and the Cursor code editor. Using the Model Context Protocol, users can draft and send an invoice, collect card or ACH payment, and check whether it has been paid by asking the assistant they already work in, without opening a separate app.

Quick Intel

  • Holdings launches free AI invoicing via MCP for Claude, ChatGPT, and Cursor.

  • No monthly subscription or separate app to learn.

  • Users can invoice in plain language: "Invoice Acme Corp for 12 consulting hours at $150."

  • Holdings earns on payment processing, not per-seat subscription.

  • Connected platform includes business banking and accounting as add-on.

  • Business banking provided through i3 Bank with $3M FDIC sweep coverage.

AI-Native Invoicing

Most invoicing tools charge a monthly subscription and require the user to open a dashboard and fill out a form for every invoice. Holdings takes a different approach on both counts. There is no subscription for invoicing, and there is no separate app to learn. A user connects their AI assistant to Holdings once, then bills in plain language. The assistant drafts the invoice, the user confirms it, and Holdings sends it and reports back when the payment clears. Holdings can offer invoicing at no cost because it earns a small margin on the payments its customers collect through its Stripe-based payment processing, rather than on a per-seat subscription.

Connected Financial Platform

Invoicing is one surface of Holdings' connected platform, where business banking, invoicing, and accounting share a single system. Business banking is provided through i3 Bank (Member FDIC), with deposit coverage up to $3 million through a program-bank sweep network. Because the pieces are built together, a paid invoice is already recorded in the books and a bank deposit is already reconciled. Free invoicing and connected business banking are included; full double-entry accounting is available as a $25-per-month add-on.

"Most people already ask an AI assistant to draft the email and do the math. Sending the invoice should happen in the same place," said Jason Garcia, CEO and founder of Holdings. "We don't charge for it because we earn when our customers get paid, not when they hit send. That lets us give invoicing away and still run a real business."

About Holdings

Holdings is the connected financial platform for founders and operators. Free, MCP-native invoicing which works with Claude, ChatGPT, and Cursor is the entry point; full double-entry accounting is a $25-per-month add-on; and connected business banking, provided through i3 Bank (Member FDIC), sits underneath. Bank, books, and invoicing write to each other rather than around each other. Founded in 2022 by Jason Garcia (former VP of Capital at Mercury and SVP at Silicon Valley Bank) and team, Holdings serves founders, operators, and mission-driven organizations nationwide.
