Hitachi Solutions America, Ltd., a global provider of business transformation solutions built on Microsoft technologies, today announced a collaboration with NVIDIA to help organizations accelerate data modernization and AI readiness through the integration of NVIDIA cuDF toolkit for accelerated structured data processing, with the Hitachi Solutions Unified Data Accelerator (HUDA).
The collaboration combines Hitachi Solutions' enterprise data modernization expertise and HUDA with NVIDIA accelerated computing technologies to help organizations improve data processing performance, optimize infrastructure utilization, and create AI-ready data foundations at scale. The solution enables customers to evaluate, benchmark, and optimize data workloads for GPU acceleration while preserving existing investments in modern data architectures.
As organizations face growing demands to process increasing volumes of data in support of analytics, machine learning, and generative AI initiatives, data transformation pipelines have become a critical bottleneck. Through this collaboration, Hitachi Solutions and NVIDIA are helping enterprises simplify the adoption of GPU-accelerated data engineering capabilities while reducing operational complexity and infrastructure costs.
Hitachi Solutions Unified Data Accelerator is a Microsoft-based data modernization solution that provides a repeatable framework/architecture for ingesting, transforming, governing, and operationalizing enterprise data. The NVIDIA cuDF integration extends HUDA by enabling compatible Apache Spark and analytics workloads to leverage GPU acceleration through a simplified, configuration-driven approach designed to reduce adoption barriers and accelerate time to value.
The capability is supported by a repeatable lifecycle that helps customers assess workloads, benchmark performance, implement optimized architectures, and operationalize GPU-accelerated data pipelines as part of broader AI transformation strategies.
Clients are realizing meaningful business value. In one benchmark involving manufacturing data workloads, the cuDF-enabled implementation delivered up to 83% lower compute costs, with all evaluated workloads completing more economically than comparable CPU-based execution. Selected workloads also achieved performance improvements, demonstrating the potential of GPU acceleration to improve both cost efficiency and speed.
The collaboration is already delivering results in manufacturing and industrial environments, where large-scale data processing, operational intelligence, digital twins, and AI initiatives require increasingly efficient and scalable data platforms. Hitachi Solutions and NVIDIA are exploring opportunities to expand their innovation and collaboration across industrial AI and next-generation analytics solutions.
