Global technology solutions provider GDT today announced launch of its AI Lab and AI Factory Center of Excellence COE at company headquarters in Dallas. Lab features full-stack AI factory powered by Cisco and running NVIDIA Enterprise Platform, making GDT one of few IT services companies to give customers production-grade AI proving ground to develop and test use cases on real infrastructure before investing in or receiving production equipment.
Lab's AI testbed consists of Cisco UCS C885A M8 server integrated with NVIDIA HGX H200, six Cisco Nexus switches, NetApp all-flash storage array, and 100G, 200G and 400G network connectivity. Platform provides roughly 38 terabytes per second of aggregate memory speed.
Testing use cases in environment helps customers reduce deployment risk, accelerate AI implementation, improve confidence in infrastructure decisions, and shorten path to production workloads, time to first token, and time to monetization. Customers with AI equipment on order can also use waiting period productively and arrive at production deployment with more of use case, design and integration work complete.
Beyond lab environment, GDT AI Factory COE provides expertise, services and support needed to help customers move validated AI initiatives into production. GDT architects, integrates, stages, deploys and operationalizes full AI factory solution for customers, drawing on large team of dedicated AI presales personnel, certified AI infrastructure architects, and over 100 architects focused on data center technologies.
Customers under pressure to rapidly support AI deployment, but need to balance issues of security, governance and token cost management. AI factory architecture, created by NVIDIA and supported by technology partners, lets customers balance factors to maximize benefits and minimize implementation risk.
GDT customers can use lab to develop, run, fine-tune and compare generative AI and large language model workloads on live GPU hardware, apply retrieval-augmented generation to own data in controlled environment, explore AI agents, copilots, computer vision and real-time inference use cases, perform benchmark training and inference performance to inform infrastructure sizing and investment decisions, build proofs of concept and work through requirements, architecture data, and infrastructure dependencies before production equipment arrives.
