Exalate, the integration solution for synchronising work across Jira, ServiceNow, Azure DevOps, Salesforce, Freshdesk and other platforms, has announced Australian hosting for Exalate Cloud. Companies in Australia can now run their integrations on Google Cloud infrastructure in Sydney, with all Exalate connectors supported.

Quick Intel

  • Exalate has launched Australian hosting for Exalate Cloud on Google Cloud infrastructure in Sydney.

  • All Exalate connectors are supported in the new region, including Jira, ServiceNow, Azure DevOps, Salesforce and Freshdesk.

  • For many Australian businesses, particularly in regulated industries, data hosting location is a requirement rather than a preference.

  • Australian hosting was a prerequisite for a complex ServiceNow-to-Jira Cloud migration brought to Exalate through an implementation partner.

  • Privacy reform in Australia is still moving, and APRA's CPS 230 standard puts service providers and offshoring under closer scrutiny.

  • Australian hosting is available to Exalate Cloud customers of any size, with existing customers able to request a move through support or their account executive.

Why Local Hosting Matters

For many Australian businesses, particularly in regulated and public-facing industries, data hosting location is a requirement, not a preference. That was the case for a complex ServiceNow-to-Jira Cloud migration brought to Exalate through an implementation partner. Australian hosting for Exalate Cloud was a prerequisite for the project. The customer is already using the Sydney deployment to support the migration.

Privacy reform in Australia is still moving, and APRA's CPS 230 standard puts service providers and offshoring under closer scrutiny. Atlassian Cloud lets Jira customers keep data in Australia, so the integration between systems is where the question now lands. Enterprise migrations often require old and new systems to run in parallel while teams move in phases. Exalate synchronises agreed records and updates between them, keeping work connected throughout the transition.

Leadership Perspective

"Hosting location is often the deciding factor in whether a platform can be used at all," said Francis Martens, co-founder at Exalate. "A migration that couldn't proceed without local hosting settled it for us. Australian teams needed the integration itself to run in-country. Now it can."

Important Consideration for Data Residency

Hosting location applies to Exalate Cloud itself. Data exchanged with a connected system hosted outside Australia will leave the country, so teams planning for residency should consider where both sides of an integration run.

About Exalate

Exalate connects teams and companies through bidirectional integration, supporting ticket escalations, partner collaboration, and phased migrations. Each side keeps its own tools and controls what data it shares and how it is mapped.
