Everpure (NYSE: P) has announced the launch of new capabilities for Red Hat OpenShift users, aimed at providing a native Kubernetes experience for managing storage and data. These updates are specifically designed to support the scaling of AI workloads, containers, and virtual machines (VMs) within a single framework. By integrating data management directly into the existing interface, Everpure aims to eliminate the need for enterprises to manage disparate platforms as they modernize their infrastructure.

  • Everpure introduces a native Kubernetes experience for managing AI, containers, and VMs on Red Hat OpenShift.

  • The Portworx Plugin 2.2 allows teams to manage storage and disaster recovery directly from the OpenShift UI.

  • Enterprises can now manage data services consistently across cloud, edge, and on-premises environments.

  • Portworx for Edge extends enterprise-grade data management to small, two-to-five node Kubernetes clusters.

  • New tools include Portworx Enterprise 3.6 and Portworx Backup 2.11, available immediately.

  • The partnership focuses on reducing complexity by replacing command-line tools with a unified console experience.

Accelerating AI-Ready Infrastructure

As modern organizations build foundations for artificial intelligence, data architectures are evolving to meet demands for higher speed and scale. By utilizing systems that are automated and native to Kubernetes, businesses can address performance requirements and data sovereignty needs effectively. This unified approach allows for consistent data services regardless of whether the workload is situated at the edge or within a traditional data center.

"Enterprises shouldn't have to juggle separate platforms for VMs and containers as they scale existing applications and emerging workloads like AI and edge," said Greg Muscarella, General Manager, Portworx. "Portworx and Red Hat simplify this challenge by enabling enterprises to manage Portworx storage and disaster recovery capabilities from within the OpenShift UI. Together, Red Hat and Everpure deliver a single, powerful platform for all their workloads at scale."

Enhanced Data Management and Edge Capabilities

The Portworx Plugin 2.2 integration provides a "single pane of glass" for orchestrating disaster recovery across different sites. This integration with Red Hat Advanced Cluster Management ensures that teams can protect and monitor data without relying on complex manual processes. Furthermore, the specialized edge capabilities ensure that data remains local and compliant through automated encryption and protection, catering to the unique constraints of edge computing environments.

Steve Gordon, senior director, Product Management, Hybrid Cloud Platforms, Red Hat, stated: "By bringing Portworx's comprehensive data management—including storage, protection, and disaster recovery—directly into the Red Hat OpenShift console, we are providing a unified experience for customers to accelerate their infrastructure modernization and confidently run AI, containers, and VMs at scale."
